Not to quote old TV theme song lyrics, but NU is movin on up,To the east side.To a deluxe apartment in the sky.

MU, KU, K-State and Iowa St. would love to move to the deluxe apartment called the Big 10, but their stuck in Queens living next to Archie and Meat Head.

    Bullshit John,
THE BIG 12 IS A GREAT HOME,
BETTER THAN THE BIG “ANYTHING/WHATEVER”. THE BIG 6/8/12 HAS GREAT HISTORY AND WE LIKE IT….. but you feel free to dream whatever bullshit makes you feel better.

As far as Nebraska, and its quitter fans, if you think you will feel better out east, good luck and fuck you…. BuBye… now give us our fucking money (the 9 million+ dollars for quitting the BIG 12) and hit the road. bu-BYE nu.

I’ve never understood the attention Nebraska gets in this town. I know there are some transplants, but there’s HUGE amount of KU, KSU, & MU fans like myself who seriously could just care less about the Big Red.

Go? Stay? WHO CARES?! Sucks all our local basketball teams will have 2 less guaranteed wins, but otherwise nothing lost.

Nebraska clearly always felt they’re better than the Big 12. Osborne got his panties in a bunch over Texas from day 1, so I say good freakin’ riddance, Corn Pumpers.

“Nebraska added swagger to the B12 North like no other”. keep telling yourself that Greg. That swagger was gone a long time ago. Winning the north once in the last 5 years doesn’t change that. Neither does beating up on the turd of a team in Washington. Hope you enjoy zero coverage of NU around these parts as no one around here really cares about them now, much less later. The big 12 may suck but it’s no better or worse without NU. They have been pretty irrelevant to the conference.

NU’s win against Washington is a great win, I don’t care how bad Washington is. It’s too bad they will win the north this year. I’m with everyone else. Good riddance, other than our two automatic wins in basketball every year.

My prediction is that within five years Nebraska will be irrelevant in football in the Big 10.

Your are damn right Mark. NU fans are going to miss Lawrence, or as we like to call it Lincoln South. Nothing like taking over another team’s stadium at dirt cheap prices.

Unless Vince McMahon is writing the script the Huskers, assuming they win the North, are gonna get crushed like an armadillo under a Kenworth in the Championship Game. No way the southern boys are gonna let Yankee’s walk away with the Big XII trophy this year.

Couldn’t be more right Bill, gonna miss getting into KU/NU games for 15 dollars or less every other year! Love this quote Greg! “What I like about Nebraska this season is their defensive backs. These guys can cover a laser pointer driven by a 10-year-old

Cornshuckers sure are strutting their stuff right now after beating up on a bunch of rummies. (Sorry, Washington despite Jake Locker and its presence in the Pac10, is terrible this year).

I say let them have their fun while it lasts. We all know there is nothing else for a Nebraskan to push out their chest about.

As soon as the Tigers head up to Lincoln and b-slap the Cornshuckers back to reality, everyone will know who is a contender and who is a pretender. Pelini will be glad to get out of the B12 and away from Pinkel and the boys in CoMo.

I’m looking forward to next year when we hear about NU football about as often as we hear about Iowa football, which is never.
(and I grew up in Nebraska…glad I got out).

Well said, PucKChaser! Ditto here. I think we actually have more Iowa grads in KC than Nebraska grads — although I suppose Nebraska graduate is kind of an oxymoron.

Greg – thanks for coming through.

Haters – I see just as many NU stickers, flags, license plate holders driving around KC as KU/KSU/MU. Ease up. There are plenty of grads in the metro, and there is more than enough press space to go around. Don’t be jealous of a little ink. Maybe if you won a few games you’d get some ink too.

lmao at the nu fans talking like nu is something to be porud of…..

nu football has done anything since Tommy Fraiser graduated. nu is a shell of what they once were. I used to admire nu… but that was long long ago. I used to say all you needed to know about college sports was KU basketball and nu football…. but then those stupid fkn nu idiots fired Frank….. after he took them to a bowl game…… then they brought in that dumbass from the faiders…. dumped the running game and started passing… and well… and that was that… now nu is leaving… it is over….

nu has done nothing in recent memory to be proud of. nu has done nothing remotely similar to KU winning a national basketball championship 2 years ago.

nu’s heyday is far behind them. This move to bumfuckeast is a mistake, but….. oh well….. good riddance.

Lets hope the gossip mongers on this website stop writing drivel about has beens and gone schools…no one cares….

Lest hope this is the last thread about nu. It was fun while it lasted, but it is over….. and facts of the matter it has been over at nu for a while. nu has done nothing for a long time.

Holy shit…there’s a ton of piss and vinegar in this room. MU Fans…get over it, you weren’t wanted and we were, quit being big fucking babies about it. What are the rest of you turds all up in arms over…you got your ‘Great South’ conference. Just be happy you landed and aren’t in the WAC now. Wow, those basketball wins are really throwing a lot of clout in the sporting world. Football rules the college landscape, plain and simple.

Markus…I want some of what you’re smoking b/c it strikes me as some good shit with your moronic comments about MU going to Lincoln and ‘b-slapping’ the Cornhuskers. If there’s one offense Pelini’s D was tailor made to stop it’s that stupid ass spread MU is running. College football is catching up to your talent equalizer dummy.

Here’s an idea for 2011 – with SOOOO FREEAAKING MAAAAANY Iowa & Nebraska fans in the metro (reverse sarcasm), maybe that warrants a seperate Big 10 OTC some week. Oh, wow I just blew my own mind with that. Forgive me KU/KSU/MU “alumni”. I should not have suggested that, because I know that at the last local election we agreed (DEMOCRATICALLY OF COURSE) that there is only room for the fans of three schools in this city. For shame, I will no punish myself by researching total wins, national championships, conference championships, and heisman trophies won by NU.

Come the end of the 2010 college football season, NU will be irrelevant on the KC sports scene. No more coverage whatsoever. Bye Nebraska fans. Move back to Beatrice NE, where you fucking belong. GTFO of our states. If yours was worth two piles of shit, you would be living here.

You mean the same MU that wanted to join the Big 10, but then the Big 10 changed their minds and went with NU? That MU?

In all seriousness, aren’t there at least a few Nebraska fans who are sad about the move?

I’m surprised it seems almost unanimous that Nebraska fans seem so pumped about going to the Big 10, where there is no rivalry or history. I guess they’re just excited to in THE Big 10.

I seriously say “woop dee doo” to that. Why is such a big deal to go the almighty Big 10? Yeah, the school will get tons of academic money, but how does that affect a fan who just wants to see a good team on the field?

I’ve been rather under-whelmed by Big 10 football the past 10 years or so. The Big 12 has been VERY entertaining, much more than the Big 10. I guess it’d be cool to play at Ohio State and Michigan.

No more close local trips to the 3 KC-proximity schools. No Big 12 basketball tournaments. No matchups with Oklahoma, K-State or Missouri. I don’t know. I’d be a little bummed.

Lol at the goofy, repeating, Jefferson quoting, nu dropout. nu has done nothing for 15 years. wtf are you talking about? nu always sucked at basketball, and now they suck at football too, or have you not noticed? …..and there was no mind changing about wanting mu … it was all a lil bs manipulation, and if you like that way of doing business, then you will get what you deserve….. so anyway… how about….. pay the fucking money you owe, and get the fuck out …. and why not ban any more talk of nu(nothing university)….. or shall we also start talking florida and alabama and UCLA and Miami and Notre Dame and other non local schools too? what is the objective?

It seems this place has become kind of a silly, trolling for comments website designed to incite BS….. what is the objective?

Nebraska followed what it felt to be in its best interests (and likely was), while MU (and I’m an MU guy) completely embarrassed itself by putting it out there that it all but expected to get a B10 invite, only to be declined. But all that aside, what do you expect from MU, KU and KSU fans, GH? That we pin a medal on Nebraska or something? Good riddance to them and their arrogant, condescending, pat-you-on-the-head, fish fry lovin’, polka dancin’ fan base. THEM I will not miss, even if I will miss the tradition of a series that goes back 120 years. The loss of that series is a real shame, admittedly.

Thank you, Independent Rage, for saying it so well. Wow … GH’s last comment was in response to KK? Despite all your bravado, you really care what KK thinks, don’t you, Greg.

Cliffy, please spare us the sarcasm. We know how much you can’t stand KK as much as Greg continues to punch KK like a rag doll.

KK is still in denial that his K-State Wildcats won’t get their once in a 30-year blue moon win over the Huskers once this season is over.

Nick, in response to your question I would say at first their were 25% of the fans who didn’t want to leave. That is now down around 10%. It is not about KU, MU, KSU, or ISU. Those rivalries will definitely be missed as well as the proximity of the games. However, even the university was surprised by the large percentage of people in favor of moving. It is all about TX. The team that was suppose to join the Big 8 and instead is trying to turn it into the old SWC. Corporate offices have been moved to TX, the football championship is now in TX, and hey MO don’t get to use to the Bball tournament staying in KC. Why should we go to TX for everything when Chicago is an easier trek. It is fine for OK and OSU. It is also about the academic recognition with the B10. But yes the games with the old rivals, the familiar stadiums and easy jaunts will be missed all except probably CO. I never heard anyone who enjoyed a game their. Those Iceballs are cold and hard. See ya on the last swing through town.

I love hearing the high school programs in the big 12 north bitching about nebraska leaving. Nebraska has 200 reasons to leave before we even get to having to play at a 45000 seat state fairground somewhere in kansas. The previous 50 years musta really bothered you to constantly talk about the last ten. Nebraska is obviously coming out of a slump and should jump ship, wouldnt you? No ill will, but the bashing is busch league.
