Greg, again nice points. Hey I want KC to do well, I am just being honest regarding expectations and Cassel. Like I wrote, so far he has shown nothing, not one game to point at and say YES, THATS OUR MAN, not one. I hope that changes.

Another thing Chiefs fans, where did you get the idea that this team has any automatic wins? This team can compete with anyone and lose to anyone, even Cleveland or Denver or Oakland etc…there will be no “sure wins” for this ballclub, from what we have seen so far. Did you look at the stats? Our D was still overall what l8th. Offense near last. Come on Man!

Cassel backwards is Lessac…kinda like LEZAK. Matt Lezak. Or since he always has the dumb Sandra Oh look on his face how about Matt Oh or even better Matt Ono. Or how about Mister Bill? OHHHH ,NOOOOO!!! Matt does do a good job of putting himself back together after he gets smashed.

Pioli was drunk on his own power when he signed Cassel. For that move alone Pioli should be dismissed. Matt Cassel is the Taylor Hicks of NFL quarterbacks signed by Scott (Paula Abdul) Pioli.

It is possible, not probable, that the Chiefs could win the AFC West. So what? Where do they go from there? Seriously? They gonna beat Indy or New England? You can EAT-LOVE-PRAY all you want but this team is still in the bottom half of the NFL when it comes to on field talent and front office smarts.

Doesn’t matter who the QB is, Todd Haley is not taking this team, or any team to a Superbowl as a head coach. He has achieved his peak under the Peter Principle.

I’m willing to bet my nuts that at the end of the regular season the Week 1
0-1 teams have a better combined record than the 1-0 teams.

Laundro-Matt. Took the Chiefs to the cleaners for 63 mil.
    Foto-Matt. Over-exposed and under-developed.

Of course Petro’s not a negator. Greg’s been telling us for months that 810 will be spinning a pro-Chiefs bias now that they have a relationship with them. Clearly Petro is nothing more than a shill for the Chiefs.

But damn, Greg, you’re right about Holthus. He’s impossible to take seriously.

What’s notable to me about Mitch Holthus and his relentless in-the-tank pro-chiefs comments is how pissed off and aggressive he sounds…sort of a pre-emptive strike against people who are ready to label him (accurately) as a shill with no credibility. It’s a very Carl Petersony attitude, but that ship has sailed, Mitch.
If you’re going to be a Pollyanna, you need to embrace it with positivity. Your hostility betrays what must be embarrassment about chucking away your integrity…or maybe you’re only this cranky when your have to chat with Kietzman.

Look, I’m not sold on Cassell either but I’m sick and tired of constantly hearing that $63 million tag attached to his name. The Chiefs are ‘only’ on the hook for $36 million if they cut him loose after 3 years and at the rate he’s going, that seems fairly likely. Sure, that’s still a major burn and puts them back to square one at that important position but if he does indeed develop into the franchise-type QB that Pioli envisioned, then he’ll actually be a ‘bargain’ at $63 mil over 6 years especially since the back half of his deal is structured favorably against the Chiefs payroll.

Again, right now I’ll agree that he appears to be a bust but if so, he’ll never see that full $63 mil so why constantly bring it up?

Portis is a football player, not an orator, broadcaster or politician. His remarks about the behavior and attitude of women and men in the locker room need to be digested in their proper context.

Mitch Holthus is SUPPOSED to be a shill.

The day he stops, is the day he gets fired.

If your looking for negative scathing indictments and startling exposes of the KC Chiefs, it probably AIN’T gonna come from the announcers.

Woodward and Bernstien didn’t work in the West Wing.

The point, chuck, is not that he is a shill. It’s how he is a shill. GH’s favorite, Ryan Lefebvre, certainly is a shill for the Royals, but he does it pleasantly with a kind of “I know you know I don’t believe all of this” tone. Holthus is so earnest and defiant about his shilling that it comes across as angry and arrogant and delusional. Again it puts me in mind of carl peterson.

Burman Dinstow nailed it about Holthus. Spot on description of the difference between Mitch and others in comparable positions.

Plus, Holthus insists on trying to get terrible nicknames to stick and tries to hard to create stupid catch-phrases. Just plain annoying.

Whitlock and JoPoz both have excellent columns online. They also make KC references.

When do the Chiefs blackouts start? I’m guessing after the loss to Cleveland.

Mitch Holtus is one solid play-by-play guy. However, he’s also one really weird motherfucker.

    Someone needs a life.
Let’s give credit where credit is due. Cassell was outstanding on that run. Seems no one wants to mention that.
Am I the only one that sees the Stars Thum-secretary implication?
Greg your comment about Marty…bad bad bad…

Greg is that troll Bob Moore still with the Chiefs?
