Glazer: Nicer Digs, Phony Crowd Counts Don’t Make Up for Poor Play at Arrowhead

It’s a classic case of style over substance…

Better food and wider concourses instead of a better football team. So rather than go over the Chiefs pathetic loss to Philly, let’s look at some other stuff…

Todd Haley the head coach, is different this year. Todd shaves and speaks much more clearly. You can understand him much better in his post game talks. Hey, maybe he’ll dress up a bit on the sidelines this year, huh?

You hit it on the head Glazer. It makes me ill to admit, but we don’t count. Its so damn depressing.

Give them a chance its just pre season. Right. You are right we don’t have much. I’m tired of ‘give em a chance.’ They get none of my hard earned money til we field a respectable team. That has not happened yet.

Craig, we had that game won, til the last minute. The Chiefs looked awesome. You are wrong they will win at least 9 games this season.

I was also at the game Friday night. The crowd was smaller then expceted, but many spent lots of time at the Hall of Fame exhibit and the new restaurants and bars. It sure looked like a couple hundred million was spent in the upgrade. Not sure the price tag.

You guys love to put down our city moving forward don’t you? The Royals and Chiefs now have a nice stadium to play in for us. So give them a minute to breathe, huh.

Saw a little of Marty on Hard Knocks..What a fucking stud that guy is. Haley is not a long ball hitter…don’t give a shit what his waist line is..Men will not go to war for this guy. Hope I’m wrong.

The Chiefs need an asskicking-oh wait… they get that every game they’ve played within the last 2 years. But in all fairness, they are young, they’re are trying to regroup, and Haley aint no Vermeil. at best, I hope to see a wild-card slot for the playoffs, in which the chiefs will end their season.

I am a big Craig Glazer fan but I disagree on this one. The pre season games are EXHIBITION games. Which game was more important….the last game of last season where we beat Denver (who had something to lose) or these four pre-season games combined? I’ll take Denver.
The game we need to win is against San Diego on MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL. We win that game, and we are in sole first place in the Division and we will sell out SEVERAL games on that momentum alone. No one will remember pre-season.
The Hunt family has done everything we could ask for. They hired a GM from the best organization in the last decade. They hired a Superbowl winner as a head coach. They hired marquee coordinators. They aren’t taking any crap off of any players, and they are building a team, not stats for Tony G. They put three digit millions of their own skin in the game on the new stadium.
I think they deserve a “wait and see” on the San Diego game.
I think Pioli and Haley know how important this San Diego game is. I think they probably have not shown all of their cards… ya think?
If I was a delusional home teamer, I would be saying the same thing about the Royals.. and I am not. Now that is a flawed organization.
Even in the last seven years, the Hunts still gave us a 13 game winner and bye in the playoffs, a pro-bowl quarterback, tight end, kicker and linemen.
And as community partners… how can you get any better. The Hunt family employs a huge number of people in Kansas City and are investing more all of the time.
I trust the Hunt family. Always have.

Glazer jumped the gun here trying to pile on the Chiefs. It was preseason game, those games weren’t full when Marty was the coach and we killed people.

And every pro team always announces the number of tickets sold, not the number of people walking through the gates.

8-8 would be great for this team…if Haley can double his win total, that would be a HUGE success, both for him personally and the organization.

Good call Glazer. I agree, Chiefs are still not a good team. Our division is weak so maybe they will win a few. Ever see John C anymore?

Geez, if you don’t have anything new to say, don’t say it. You’re bitching about the Chiefs losing a pre-season game as time is running out? That loss doesn’t mean anymore to the Chiefs than winning it did to the Eagles. Do you understand the NFL pre-season at all? Seriously, this reads like it was written by a 14-year-old stat geek who hasn’t the attention fan to stop and think about what the game is and means – he just knows it’s a game and the Chiefs lost. And have you looked at the Chiefs’ schedule? Didn’t think so. It’s a rebuilding team’s dream schedule. You don’t have to stretch to see them winning 8 or 9 games this year.

And you’re bagging on the Royals. Why? Seriously, what is the point of this? If you’re just filling space, skip it next time. Find something new and/or insightful to write about or just save your breath. Leave the pointless “Chiefs/Royals Suck” rants to the morons who call 610.

I have covered both teams and Craig, you are correct. They could play in the Taj Mahal and it would not increase their win totals. But it does not take a writer, just a fan to knw this.

Nice butts or not, they need to win some games. Or they will be fat asses.
