Hearne: Chiefs & Chopper, Tough Times for Team and Star

Sad state of affairs of late at the Kansas City Star

Then again, who isn’t having problems? These are difficult days for many.

Let’s start, for example, with the Blackout Boyz aka the Kansas City Chiefs.

Hard to remember a time when this many core Chiefs football fans were this down on the team this early. Hope usually springs somewhat eternal. And say what you will about exiled Big Chief

I thought the Chiefs would have a little more hype going into the season…Pioli is about as exciting as Ben Stein and Hunt is all about The Texas. Like an idiot I split some season tickets.

Don’t think I would want to butt heads with The Star in the weekly Marriage Mail game. See Uncle Sam doesn’t exactly have the greatest terms. Although from a strategic point of view I totally get Hy-Vee and HH wanting to develop something on their own. One small economic shock to MNI and who knows what?

I get the impression that Kansas City sports fans are pretty well beaten down by the losing. The Royals Syndrome is seeping over to the Chiefs.

Hey, our sports franchises may be losers, but at least they are ridiculously expensive.
