Let’s be real…

The Kansas City Wizards win against Manchester United isn’t going to go down as one of the great upsets in soccer.

There’s a difference between putting a show on for your fans and putting on a show on for people who want to say they went to your show.

At those prices, true fans should be rewarded by seeing a concert that is representative of the deapth/breadth of a 50 year career in music. And the “I was there” crowd deserves to be punished by listening to all the songs they never bothered to listen to between Let It Be and now.

bring on the name change if it makes KC’s team more competitive. since pro soccer games can’t have commercials during the telecast, they need to make up revenue other ways.

fans will put up with a lot for a winning team. they’ll put up with very little for a losing one.

I would expect them to change their name to something without the “city” part of Kansas City.

Kansas Redlegs or Kansas Jayhawks to honor their murder and pillaging during the Civil War?

Oops! Kansas Jayhawks has already been taken.

The corporate name thing works in soccer.. This is not a stretch. But Chivas has a stronger future than Sprint.

I don’t think they are thinking this name change all the way through. Sprint is trading at 5 bucks a share and was about 1 months away from filing bankruptcy last fall.

We turned a nice suburb into a low class company town filled with middle managers in branded polos and batman-phone belts. Why not do it with our pro soccer team?

And if anyone is interested, Sprint got their world headquarters zoned as Agricultural so they get to pay little to no taxes. Great corporate citizen.

Only in America are team names such a big deal. Look all over the world a majority of the top flight teams are just listed as the city they are from. They have nicknames such as Man U being The Red Devils and so forth. They need to come up with a team crest that represents the city, have the name KCFC in it, and just be known as Kansas City
