Glazer: Why Carl Peterson Hates My Guts

Several years back when I ran Red Friday in Westport – when it mattered – Marcus Allen helped bring the Chiefs players to Westport…

And yes, I was the one who took it from 300 people at Barney Allis Plaza to l7,000 in Westport. Aided only by Bill Nigro and our staff. Derrick Thomas and Neil Smith lent a helping hand but Marcus was the team’s offensive

Yeah, i am sure he really said that and you predicted the playoff miss.

Shottenhiemer carried Peterson on his back.
Both were good for KC…created Arrowhead experience. When Lamar wanted to win he knew how to get it done he was original Jerry Jones. To go from Lamar to Clark is big drop.

See… this is why Hearne has Glazer on here. This is solid and interesting stuff. I also see that someone is editing Craig now, getting rid of some of those typos. It was ugly there for a while. Whoever did a whole book for him had a lot of patience.

well-just for the record-i have no idea who the hell would actually call themselves “rainbow man”,there is your sign my friend-see you at missy b’s

How astute Whitney. There is a street that runs through the Kansas sector of our metro called Rainbow. You do the math. But since you brought Missy B’s into it, I guess I would say I did not name myself “39th Street Man” or “Southwest Trafficway Man.” I guess I would fall under the category most Gen Xers do…Uh.. we are over the whole gay bashing joke thing.. But if my wife, who I met at Glazer’s joint in Westport 18 years ago had a sitter for our three kids wanted to go over to Missy B’s to check out the acts… We would probably go. That would be my reason for going… so… maybe I will see you there.

Why is this article even here, maybe a few years ago when Carl was booted, but now, who gives a shit about Carl and cradle robbing Craig? Hey gramps, go back to running your comedy joint and hitting on the 20 year old waitresses.

I am firmly convinced that any fan could do as good, or better, job than the “geniuses” who run our local pro sports franchises. It didn’t take a genius to pick Gannon over Grbac …

Peterson is such an easy target. Who cares if he hates you, he’s out, and he never was an effective leader anyway…

Hey Redsox kc fan, its here because both Glazer and Peterson are high profile KC people. Both where in the news a ton over the last few years. Glazer still is, Peterson thank goodness is pretty much gone. I do give Peterson credit for putting the Cheifs back together in the early 90’s. He just kept falling short. I’m sure he was mad at himself many times for bad decisions.

As far as Glazer, the guy who called him ‘gramps’ and says ‘go back to pickin up 20 year olds’ well pal thats not a bad indictment. I was a cop and near Glazer’s age now, I’m sure he could kick your butt tough guy. I used to not like him, but I read his book, changed my opinion of the guy. Try it.

Craig, great story. I’m sure there is more. Wish you and Johnny Dare would bring back Red Fridays, if the Chiefs are good again. I loved them in Westport. Crazy good shows, seeing all the old players like Dawson and Bell was so much fun, the celebrity guests. You had Playmate of the year once, that was nice. Come on Craig talk to Johnny, bring it back. Maybe they will let you guys do it again.

Mister Glazer, I’ve said it before,”you are the most entertaining writer on this or any blog.” What a fun and interesting story. Yes I believe all of it, Carl is a strange duck.

So you got a young blonde girlfriend. Good for you. I am very happy now, got a job, don’t strip anymore, maybe we will come to the comedy show and see Winslow. Me and Derek. I love the Chiefs, dated a couple. You leave Carl alone, he’s a good man.

Glazer, I was at many Red Fridays in the River Market. We had thousands of fans, great family shows. No we didn’t have playmates, strippers, trash and you on stage with your foul mouth. I hope Power and Light gets the new ones. Downtown is happening.

Hey, DD I was at a couple of those City Market Red Fridays myself and the crowds were pretty darn small. Way smaller than when it was in Westport. The Chiefs did clean things up quite a bit to make it family friendly but they maybe dialed out too much of the star power and thus sex appeal. Not sex sex, but you know what I mean.
Next thing you know it became a nonevent.

Glazier files another story where the point is that he is cool and awesome.

Wow, that was a weird thing for Peterson to say and do especially out in public. Families are the backbone of a society but there are the single or wild crowds that also count for part of a community and they need and deserve their leaders or representatives too. When it comes to sports, teams should play up to all the groups because every one loves their home town team and wants to celebrate in their own way. Strippers, Playmates, trash and even big mouths spend alot more money on sports than family men cause they don’t have to always worry about what the spouse will do or if they are setting an appropriate example for the kids. Fun can be defined in a bizzilion different ways. When the sports action at one place gets to wild for me, I just go find a calmer group to go party with. No sense in being a buzz kill or showing your ass when there is loads of different people and stuff around town to get involved with.

Again thank you all for your thoughts and ideas. I am glad you guys get a kick out of these stories. Even those who don’t care for me much.

Kia, your point is well taken. NFL is not really a family sport. Most pro sports are not, broken bodies, foul language on the sidelines, sexy cheerleaders etc…who said it was family fun?

One of my next stories will be on this subject. We expect too much from “clean cut leaders.” First off they don’t really exist, people are human and humans make mistakes, with sex, money and fame with fortune. The public wants Billy Grahm to be the moral example for a president…its been anything but that, right? Stay tuned as Hearne would say…I had much more on me and Carl, but this was enough….he did get pissed at me for wanting “March to The Super Bowl” rally in 93/94 with the 93 Western Division Title team, the one who went to the AFC title game…he tried to cancel due to cold weather..it was 9 degrees out that Friday night…he didn’t want Joe or Marcus to get a cold and said lets skip it and you guys can have the Super Bowl party and parade in Westport….we had planned the event, and it was the eleventh hour he wanted to trash it…I said no…they are big boys they can stand the cold for a few minutes on stage…the entire team showed as did Mayor Clever…only Joe was a no show(he came the next year)….it was great about six thousand fans came….and oh yeah…there never would have been that Super Bowl parade or party, huh.

Craig, I know this all happened you talked about it on Dare years back when it did. Again please, please keep writing your stories, sure there will always be people who for no reason put you down, trust me, they don’t have what you got my friend. Love your work.

    Hearne…please…can we get some relevant…
up to date…current articles about whats really
    happenoing in our city.
I’m so tired of 60 year old guys going back to
the 90’s (20 years ago) for stories about how
great they were…who they pissed off…really…
    who cares.
OUr country is in trouble..our economy is
struggling….politcal winds are shifting daily…the business community in our city
is becoming dormant…and all you’ve gotto offer
are people on social security who can’t helpo
talking about the “good old days” and stories
about people who were gone 30 years ago.
We don’t care about the jones pool/woodside and
the oldies hanging there with their tongues
outside their mouth like their trapped at
john knox village/old stories about e vents
that most people could care lessabout.
This blog is starting to be like the kc star..
    old/outdated/retread stories/ and unless you
change you’ll be going the way of the
    other dead media.
Get some young input into this blog. Some
people who were born after 1950! And lets see
    some insightful/imaginative writings by some
    younger thinking people.
Stories about old washed up athletes and old
men chasing “whitney” or the other gold diggers
is getting old. Now if these girls are 25…
and their guys are 60…then when the guys
are 80 at the nursing home on oxygen do you
think those 45 year old hotties are gonna want
to take care of this guy when the nursing home
is taking what few bucks he has left and the
girl can’t buy her own drinks at some club
    for cougars?
ither you change or you will die…it’s that
    simp,le.
To grow your readership and visitors you need
more than just the same old retread crap that
    few people care about.
Nothing against glazer or the other tired
writers…but infuse some bright fresh new
talent onto this blog and your numbers will
    explode.
This is not about personal vendeattas…this
is about buinsess…make kcc a greatsite ande
reaping the rewards for being a really
cool site with updated/fresh and interesintg
material….its all about the numbers hearne.

    p.s….this can be a great site…and if
know more people are coming here…but
if you want to reach the nextlevel lets some
really good writers who have insight into a
world different thant what we’re seing now.

JoJo shmo, just to clue your beyond hopeless dumbass in, Glazer is not 60, he was not born in l950, again get his book and see his age, unlike you he hides nothing. I guess you want to be a writer on this site? God forbid. Since you are so jealous of Glazer, just don’t read or comment about him anymore. I think from his articles we can see he is one of if not thee most popular writers on this blog, along with Greg Hall and Hearne. If he stoppped writing I would be far less interested. Oh yeah and so would many others.

I would like to see another area celebrity that is young, like twenty five to thirty on here to get their thoughts. Hey get Johnny Dare to write for this blog, I think he is about 40 though, still he would be fun.

I agree with Joel. I love downtown, Glazer does not, but still he is probably Kansas Cities most well rounded celebrities. He just is, movies,tv,radio, prison, politics in KC, on and on. JoJo my old pal, who the crude are you to say anything about his guy? If you were really an accomplished person you would say my name is___, and I worked at or owned or did what? You don’t ever do that so to me you are the one who is a want to be, not Glazer. Hey that guy’s stories are national news, his book is in all the libraries here and around the nation, he is a modern day Jesse James. Get over it jojo.

P.S. Glazer and Hearne are wrong about downtown, its rolling.

You are starting to scare even me! Put away your thumb tacks and take down the wall of Craig Glazer!!!!!! We all know you have a man crush on him! You should call yourself kermit, because you are CRAZY green with envy! Quit player hating and get a life or better yet get help. Put away the keyonta and fava beans & Google support groups, I am sure there is one to meet your MANY issues.
