I would add Aunt Jean’s in downtown Shawnee (just west of Johnson Drive and Nieman). Another small, locally-owned operation with about 18 flavors of gelato and sorbet at any given time. Their trademark is Celebration Cake, which is gelato that tastes like wedding cake icing. My wife had flavor flashbacks (in a good way) for a week after her first try.

I came to write the same thing as jjskck. Aunt Jean’s is quietly the best gelato joint in town, hands down. If you skip out on a locally owned gem like Aunt Jean’s to waste your money at Sheridan’s somebody needs to come hit you in the head and take your kids away.

Miami Ice on 39th across from the Frak should also be considered.
