A funny thing happened Saturday night on KSHB TV’s television weather channel…
“For at least 10 minutes on their exclusive, all high definition weather channel,” says Shawnee resident Tracy Thomas. “Their giant scroll listed the current (weather) conditions in Kansas City as 18 degrees and snow,” Thomas says. “On the Chillicothe was listed as 9 degrees and snow, Gardner 20 degrees and snow, Olathe 18 degrees and snow. But then it would toggle back to 79 degree without the snow.”
The miscue wasn’t limited to a tiny crawl across the screen.
“It was on the largest portion of the screen in the area on the left that gives you the current weather conditions,” she says. “And on my screen those letters are five or six inches tall.
