Hearne on the Street: Zack Greinke Puts One Over the Plate at Woodside

Think Zack Attack in a Speedo…

If that sounds like a bit of a stretch – and it does – let the record show that beleaguered Kansas City Royals pitching ace Zach Greinke is now a proud member of Westwood’s Woodside Health & Tennis Club near 47th and State Line.

As you may recall, the club’s swimming scene more-or-less serves as Kansas City’s answer to Las Vegas where the celebration of poolside skin and sin is concerned. As of last summer, The Jones – high above a downtown grocery store near 12th and Main – is Woodside’s hip new challenger. But with limited pool, patio, privy and

Wow! I wonder what Eb, Mr. Drucker and Mr. Haney think about this? I think I’ll run over to Hooterville and Pixley to find out.

Good one ManD. Thanks for the Green Acres memories. I was always kinda partial to Fred and Arnold Ziffle though. I still think that Arnold was tappin’ Mrs. Douglas.

Hooterville, what a coincidence! Perfect nick-name for the Woodside pool.

I gave Jewel a spot on the bench press at Woodside about 10 years ago when she was in town for that Civil War movie. True story!

I spotted Kevin Bacon at the Wood back when his wife was filming
Mr. and Mrs. Bridge. He had to weigh about a buck-twenty.

I thought I read somewhere that KC didn’t have any celebrities? I wasn’t born yesterday. I’m not going to buy this until Glazer interviews himself about it.

And someone needs to learn the difference between Petticoat Junction and Green Acres.

Hey Ross, you must hate Glazer. He didn’t interview himself he wrote an interesting story. Like him or not, he is one of the best known individuals in this town, and though he jerked me around, is a celebrity here and known in America. So get over it Ross.

Used to belong there in the 80’s, Woodside. Glad to hear its happening again out there. Not a big Royals fan these days, hope the Chiefs Cheerleaders come back to the pool, will be out for a visit in July. Glazer, well, “he’s everywhere.”

If among your celebrity list you have mentioned Mary Sanchez…then you are desperate and scrapping the bottom of the barrel.

And soooooo Bob…that’s all you have in regards to your Jewel “story”?

Maureen what side are you on? You’re like Mermaid. Sometimes you slam Craig other times you defend him. Craig do you just date crazy multiply personality chicks?

    See u at the pool.
