This shit has been going on for DECADES! Coaches know and they either play hard ass enforcer like Parcells and The Hoodie or they look the other way like Herm. What an absolute stupid motherfucker he is. If he was white he would have never gotten close to an NFL job.
There used to be a dude in Pittsburg called Downtown Brown who was a big time bookie hooked up with the mob in Philly. He used to pay women aka “HO’S” to go “party” with the visiting team to no pun intended, “widen the spread”.
This is just another black eye on the NFL. same hotel as the chiefs. Derrick Thomas was
always hauling in the girls.
Of course this happens. They are athletes with
money. The girls are looking to get laid and what
better place than a hotel floor filled wiht

I think I need to point out the Chiefs were heavy dogs that game at SD in 2007 and won 30-16. Bowe had a monster game too, 160 and a score, including the go-ahead TD on about a 50-yard catch and run. Point is, this team should have been importing every game since then.

The only difference between Facebookgate (well, somebody had to -gate this, didn’t they?) and the Baseball Annies of Jim Bouton’s “Ball Four” in the ’60s (where has Chicago Shirley gone?) is that groupies hook up by social networking sites rather than hanging out in hotel lobbies — which they may still do, so at least give the Chiefs credit for having the class to fly them in.
Sorry, this is pretty ho-hum stuff, as far as I’m concerned. I’ve got to admit I’m more with Herm on this; it IS on the player. And, as a result, if they don’t perform, then cut their ass; if they do perform, then who cares? Until I see evidence that the individual players involved stunk the joint up as a result of their Facebookings, I cannot draw a causal relationship between this and the Chiefs’ dismal performances on the field (of which, San Diego in 2007 wasn’t among).

JoJo, Facebook has been around since early 2004 and got big amongst the college-age kids in late 2004/early 2005 – so yes, it was around and common in 2007.

What was most impressive was that channel 9 covered Todd on the Jim Rome show and his comments. Meanwhile all the other stations were saying the Chiefs hadn’t responded yet to the Bowe situation.

I’ve noticed 810’s hosts NEVER give credit to ANYBODY outside their station, including the Star.
Which is odd, considering they have Mellinger, Baab and Kerkhoff on all the time.
I don’t listen to Rome very often, but when I do I find his show very entertaining….much more entertaining than any local show.
The dirty little secret on why Soren’s show crushes Rome is that people in Kansas City want to hear about the Chiefs, Royals and Big 12. Rome doesn’t do that.
As for the Bowe “story”….what a complete waste of time for journalists. 20-something rich athletes get horny on road trips and sleep with hot women? Shocking stuff.

To all concerned above and jojo, YES ITS MOSTLY TRUE, I wasn’t there on this one, but have been in San Diego with the Montanna group of the early to mid 90’s. In fairness not all players did this, I’m sure Brian Waters did not. Likely a few ‘playas’ did. So seven seems like 20 to Bowe. Still nothing he should have spilled to the media. Though they know as well, they cover these guys and have eyes and ears.
It’s not a crime to bring or have a lady friend ‘meet you in St Louis” so to speak. I do not know about them staying on the same floor of the hotels. That is somewhat unlikely but staying in same hotel is not.

Again from what I have seen on the raod, and this was when we had a good team, it happens but not all players do this…I did go to dinner in SD, with tight end Keith Cash and Mike Dyle and others, they were NOT with strange girls, Keith was with his wife the whole time, so some are NOT GUILTY. And Joe’s wife always kept tight eye on him as well.
