Tony: We’re Sorry We Missed the Wedding of the Year

All of the important people in Kansas City were at the wedding of Will Gregory and Erin Leigh Curtin this weekend.

From what I hear it was the event of the year and a great many Kansas City movers and shakers were in attendance. Except The Star’s Joyce Smith, of course. Will is the best PR dude in the City and Erin is no slouch in her own right. And because these two are somewhat friendly with this blog I decided to skip the celebration, if only because my presence at places usually brings everybody down. Not only because I’m a horrible person but also because I haven’t been able to put a sentence together without cussing for the past five years. Also, I’m not sure if pestering bridesmaids would be “just cause” for a sexual harassment suit but I’m pretty sure I could make it close. Get the picture? I’m a horrible guest. So, I stayed home and a wonderful time was had by all.

Hearne had his own lame excuse for not making it to the blessed event.

Everyone inside the loop was aware of the wedding celebration given that from 9-10 on Saturday night The Downtown Marriott scrolled “Congratulations Will And Erin.”

Considering that this is a second marriage for both I think that’s quite a spectacular gesture.

Also, while most 1st marriages have a fail rate of about 50/50 second marriages have almost as good of a shot as the lottery ticket I plan on buying tonight. So a nice party was in order.

All of this reminds me that wedding season in Kansas City is almost in full gear. For Erin and Will’s wedding the weather was unusually clear and warm while the rest of this season seems to be one series of torrential downpours after the next. And once the heat kicks in it’ll be fun to see so many chubby people in formal attire sweating while taking the same lame photos on the Plaza. Without question Will and Erin’s wedding was the classiest affair I’ve seen in Kansas City and that’s just what I’ve gathered from the sweet photos on their Facebook accounts. Very much like all second marriages . . . It’s all downhill from here.

Congratulations again, you crazy kids.

Are you seriously mocking someone’s wedding and the potential for their relationship? Two people you know and apparently don’t like? You are one seriously bitter person. I suppose in your next column you’ll poke fun at someone’s funeral, discuss what a miserable life they led, and disrespect the survivors. I feel sorry for you.

I don’t think you do feel sorry for him, random. I think you feel genuine disdain for the writer of this post. It’s a bit sad you’re unable to admit your true feelings? I feel sorry for you, random.

Are you kidding me? I just wasted five minutes of my life reading responses of people who have not evolved beyond their cliques in junior high.
