I also heard that Rany interview and my shock was Rany saying David Glass is mad and not meddling. I have one question: Does Dan Glass have substantive baseball meetings with Dayton Moore? if the answer is yes, then David Glass is meddling.

I was over at the Royals Review live blog during yesterday’s game. Numerous people noticed the Hamilton non-tag. Again…PEOPLE WATCHING THE GAME ON TV WHILE ALSO POSTING ON THE INTERNET saw it. But Hillman & this band of dopes didn’t. Dude should’ve been shitcanned yesterday.

Let the Trey Hillman countdown begin, I have June 21st as the date that he is finally whacked. The bumbling play that occurred Sunday was totally on Hillman. He is not the sole problem with this team, I think Glass and Moore have contributed. However, the talent level on this team is way above the 04-06 teams, and they should be playing better. What happened to stressing the fundamentals? For that matter, somebody should sent the Royals the Rule Book for Major League Baseball, evidentally they need a primer on the rules of the game.

TO SEE HOW BAD THE ROYALS ARE WATCH BUTLERS
    INTERVIEW WITH JACK HARRY.
Butler looked terrible. Old shirt and shorts
and flip flops. Havent seen that in years.
Harry asked hikm about the team…whats butlers
reply “we’re trying”…not an ounce of passion from this guy. No embarassment in having one of
the worst records in baseball over the last
3 or 4 years. Whats this guys problem?
He’s lost and waiting to bail out like the the
rest of the good players on the team.
Ankial has given up..hates the managers…players…and hates the attitude of
hte team…he’s used to being with winners..
    not a bunch of losers.
Hillman needs to go. Not just because he has
no idea what he’s doing but because the team
needs a kick in the ass.
Moore has vpatch worked this team together without a solid plan. Guys hit/can’t field.
    Guys field/can’t hit.
No plan on where to put players. Aviles needs
    to play.
Bettancourt…after that dropped fly send him
    to omaha.
The owners/management should have some type of
rules about dressing for interviews…butler looked like a fat frat boy at a cookout.
And yesterdays missed play that cost them
2 runs was probably the last straw.
Moore needs to go too….hillman needs to
be replaced now…not in a month.
Jump start the team with someone with passion
and anger and who willm ake these guys
    responsible for their losing ways.
Meche…guy was having problems playing golf
in dallas in january…he knew he had problems…
and since when does the pitcher tell the manager
    what to do.
Hillman is lost. Over his head.
They can win some games but notwith this
freaking idiot hillman. Just too man botched
    opportunites.
and zacks gotta be hitting the anti depressants
hard right now…from hero to zero…wows….
let the pitching coach go too because he sure
hasn’t done anything positive with this staf
    in 3 years.
what a mess. What a p.o.s. but kc folks
are used to bad baseball..they love the stadium…they can buy that overpriced food
…but will glass fire these clowns?
    probably not.

It doesn’t matter who the manager is anymore. As long as Davis Glass or his son has something to do with the team this is always going to happen.

Glass ran the team to the ground as the board chairman for while. Bought the team on the cheap and has ran the team on the cheap.

He convinced people that the reason why the team stinks is because of the lack revenue sharing MLB. Now that he has some of the Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs and Dodgers money, he refuses to use it to better the team.

He refurbished a 35 year old stadium in stead of building a new downtown one, because refurbishing it would be cheaper. The stadium is just OK and all the renovations will be outdated in five to six years.

Just wondering what this team would look like if Miles Pretence bought the team. It could be just as bad. The team could be in New Jersey or Long Island by now. Or the team might be a lot better.

I said it last summer. I would take my chances on an owner who could move the team in six years, if the owner at least knows what he

I’m no fan of talk radio or the royals right now (of for about 25 years) but Rany on Border Patrol today was excellent radio. Passionate, informative, different.

I just can’t be a royals fan right now. Incompetent ownership, leadership, managing and playing. On top of that, they bilked us JaxCo taxpayers into spending $100s of millions into making the K WORSE.

The biggest joke team in the biggest joke league.

MLB isn’t letting the Royals out of KC. Imagine if the Royals were playing 700 ball. It’d be the hardest ticket to get. David Glass is more concerned with making money than winning championships. That’s the BIGGEST difference between him and Mr. K. He’s not going to go into his pocket to improve the product on the field. Too much risk and there will never be enough ROI for him compared to what he is making versus his spend now.

Does anybody know what happens to the team when David goes to visit the big greeter in the sky? That might be our next best chance to get an owner with FU money that really wants to play in the BIG BOYS club and buy him/herself, and us, another World Series.

    Yeah, Hillman is toast.

    So who to replace him?

I wish some enterprising reporter would dig the bones and reveal why Frank White’s gig at Wichita didn’t lead to other opportunities in the organization. Unless he simply doesn’t like to manage.

But who are the other candidates? Is there anyone standing in a coach’s box or sitting in Muncie who could take this franchise and restore — if not an immediate winning record — at least a bit of pride in playing the game?

‘Merriam Citizen’ has a good point. No passion or anger from anybody on the team. Butler’s supposed to be the big offensive stud on this team? What’s he on pace for 18 bombs and 75 RBIs? That’s good for a 7-hole hitter on a contender. This team goes out, gets their sh-t handed to them and then acts surprised after the games. Somebody get mad, act like you care. I’m waiting for Zach to go crazy, I hope he does.

It starts at the top with the Glass family and goes through Moore to Hillman. They either don’t know anything about baseball (which I don’t believe) or think we are all stupid. I remember Moore and Hillman when we got Betancourt. They were all excited…Moore was like, ‘when you get a chance to get a guy like Betancourt, you have to take it.’ Uh, no, you don’t. There’s a reason he’s available.

Susan Dunlap, I think you may be new here. You should probably know that being an idiot isn’t really a crime in these parts. Everyone who posts on this board, myself included, has been an idiot at one time or another. In some cases (this guy “merriam citizen” reminds me of someone but I can’t quite put my finger on it), we make a career out of it and celebrate our entire catalog of stupidity.

ManDShagger, I know you don’t need someone sticking up for you and you’re perfectly capable of fighting your own fights, but we just don’t get that many girls around here and I wanted to make sure one of the others doesn’t scare her away by asking her to join his fantasy league, fantasy sports (of which I am an avid player) being little more than Dungeons & Dragons for suburban, middle-aged dudes.

Hey Susan, why is mandshagger an idiot? He and several other “idiots”, (myself included), have been screeding since day one that David Glass has to go. Hell, if David Glass announced today that he was selling the team to Osama bin Laden that’d be good news to most Royals fans. Explain yourself please.

So Gavin, you think it’s too early to ask Susan if she’s Dunlapdance?

I don’t like jojo when he takes his meds. Merriam Citizen….throw away the thorzine. NOW!

Nice idea on Glass selling the team to Osama bin Laden smartman. I likey.

Hey Greg could you conduct a poll to see if Royals fans would prefer to maintain the status quo with the Glass, Moore, Hillman regime or have Osama come in and TRIPLE the payroll.

Actually, high school teams don’t have to worry about appeals; the call is automatic on the high school level, so only an umpire has to notice.

Hillman may be a Fraud Factor case: stubborness tends to be a mask for those in over their head, as though repeating the same actions — even proven mistakes — supposedly signals assurance.

I’m prone to agree with Rany’s take that it’s as much about Moore as anybody. What has Glass denied Moore in terms of decision-making or money? I don’t think David Glass has any business owning a baseball team, but all of the Royals’ on-field woes are not of his making. The GM acquires them, the manager plays them, so when it doesn’t work there’s blame enough to go around.

Frankly, I don’t much care what Mad Jack has to say. He’s a blowhard entertainer, which isn’t entirely an indictment; Rush Limbaugh and Keith Obermann are the same, on a larger scale, and their bloviation is for amusement rather than insight.

You could have Casey Stengel, Sparky Anderson, Whitey Herzog, Connie Mack and Dick Howser in the Royals dugout and that roster of scrum bums wouldn’t have more than 3 extra wins at best.

    THEY NEED PLAYERS.

Forget the Royals talk. Greg when are you going to discuss Keitzman’s big breaking story about the Big Ten inviting Missouri and Nebraska plus Rutgers and Notre Dame. ESPN even picked it up and gave credit to WHB. Of course, representatives of both schools are vehemently denying it. It should be interesting.

GH: That topic, and how it was broke, covered and denied, might make an appearance in Tuesday’s OTC.

We are inching closer to a playoff in College FB. This conference realignments are going to make it VERY difficult to have an undefeated season.

I think the first move Osama would make would be to add the cameltoe cam. And just what he’ll save in not having toilet paper will pay for a couple of arms in the bullpen. The threat of beheading would certainly be a motivator and gives a whole new meaning to bobblehead night. Maybe change the name to the Saudi Royals?
