Priest, asking how many NFL players go broke in three years after they finsih….according to S.I., 80 plus per cent…of that 92 per cent are of color. Reasons, no education(never went to class though they have a phony degree, but can’t even speak English as you hear on all the interviews, sad).

Talking about Jennifer Jo Cobb reinventing herself—–I heard on Johnny Dare’s show this morning the crew discussing Jennifer getting new fake titties to get some exposure. I, for one, would like to see the photos!

” A full-time software developer, Hall writes a column for the Platte County Landmark newspaper and also writes for a blog site about advertisers compiled by former Kansas City Star gossip columnist Hearne Christopher.”

Fescoe didn’t start the Border Patrol with Bukaty, it was with SSJ. Why would they call 2 KU homers the Border Patrol? The Ticket Probe would be more appropriate.

    ___

GH: I may have this wrong but I thought it was Nate and Bob who originated that show under a different name. SSJ was doing FM radio w/ Randy Miller at the time. I’m sure someone can fill us in on the details.

Boy…those KK quotes are just the kind of non-analysis that’s kept me from being a listener for years now. Thanks for the reminder of why I made that choice, Greg.

IIRC, it was Sportsfreak, then Bob, then Bob and SSJ. I didn’t think Nate did much until Fescoe left.

New manager gets the Royals maybe 10 more wins. They just aren’t that good on the field. I feel like I’m watching The Twilight Zone when I watch the Royals. C’mon boys and girls, this organization needs an overhaul, a total rebuild from the ground up to the corner office. That’s the only way this organization makes any progress. David Glass has to go! He’s the Saddam Hussein of sports.

Dumbass retired athletes deserve to go broke. If you make 10 to 40 million, or more, over your career and you can’t set back enough to kick back you’re too dumb to live.

The only racing women need to do is race home to cook dinner and blow me. Danica, Milka, Jennifer Jo…are just a waste of time by racing organizations desperately trying to grow the fan base. Women have had some success in NHRA for years but running a quarter mile is a hell of a lot easier than trading paint or running wheel to wheel for 200+ miles. There will NEVER be a woman season/points champion in NASCAR, CART, IRL or F1. If I wanna see hot chicks and cars I’ll go to the car show.

I’m glad Bob was there to see this stretching done by the team. If someone has to brag that they were somewhere for crediblity, that isn’t a good sign. And 6-11 on 610 is damn near unlistenable.

    GREG…WORST COLUMN OF THE YEAR…
    1. You qoute some great experts on the chiefs
draft. Lawrence Journal World sports editor…
mark collins? Who’s next…your grandma at
john knox village. Mark collins has the iq of
a baboon and the lawrence journal world does not
qualify as a huge news organization. Maybe stop
qouting these idiots and lets see some big
names who know talent. and obviously they are
not currently employed by the chiefs.
    2. Jennifer Cobb: no wonder she crashed this
weekend. With new tits she couldn’t see the
redneck in the truck in front of her. She needed
an extra large seat belt to keep those bigguns
strapped in. Actually saw her real ones…they
were’nt bad but she really needed a front
end alignment and unless she gets working out
will need a back end work done otoo.
And talk about egos…this broad thinks she
    owns the track….another huge fail.
    3. Alex Gordon: Like a bad coin..its just keeps coming back. Now the excuse the royals are using keeping this mess is that next year they play
him at first and make billy butlet dh. I read
that! Can you believed these clowns. Go get
a first baseman who’s played first base not some
corno pone loser who can’t hit a ball in the
big leagues. And what about butler? The guty
finally is makeing some great moves and what
does the idiot hillman want to do? Move him!
    OMG…this is a stupid man.
    4. Dave Owen: where did this messed up
kook come from. He’s the worst 3rd base coach
    ever…just doesnt get it.
    5. Colon: did you read this! Colon was supposed
to be a big time reliever for us. NOW I READ
WHERE WE’RE SELLING HIM TO A TEAM IN KOREA…
NAMED THE KIAS!!!!!!!!!!!! iS THIS RIGHT?
Hillman and his pitching coach thought colon
was the guy for us…and now he’s headed to
    KOREA….KOREA…DO THEY PLAY BASEBALL THERE
OR DO THJEY JUST MAKE HYUNDAIS AND KIAS?
Somoen tell me how can major league managers
and cvoaches be so far off on talent on a team.
    I’ve never see nthis before.
    5. GREINKE: do the guy a favor. Trade him
now. Get 3 startersw for the guy…3 starters
and stack the outfield in a trade with boston/
new york. whoever. Guys gonna be a prozak
junkie before its over. If this guy was on
contender, he would win 25 games a year….
get what you can now…don’t wait til next
    year…the team deosn’t hit for him…..
make a smart move and send him packing.
    6. Radio on sports talk stations…uh..horrible.
    …boring…boring…but they have nothing to
talk about. Chiefs suck…royals play bad…
its a mess having no subject to talk asbout.
    7. Luke Hochever: bust. Crowe:hopefully
he can come up and make na impact.
Question: Who’s hiring and signing these guys..
someone has made some really bad decisions.
    8. split with rays: yeeha….in tampa bay…
I still with all this crap going on and only
5 games under 500 see this team hopefully
catching fire pretty soon and make a run…
    please…please…someone help our teams.

I also recall that the Border Patrol was originally St. John and Fescoe. However, I guess it’s entirely possible that there could have been some very early incarnation that featured Fescoe and Bukaty (I just don’t remember it).

    ___

GH: I think your memories are better than mine. I now think SSJ and Fescoe originated the Border Patrol (or some show of a similar name) and then Nate was added after Fescoe’s departure. Prior to that, Nate traveled with the Royals and did not have a regular gig as a host on 810. I do know that both Fescoe and Bukaty started in local radio over at 980 with Fortune, Petro and Clinkscale. Little wonder that 810 can often sound a lot like old 980.

Lawrence, Kansas has a sports reporter that knows anything more than JayHawk crap?

    Not worthy of a column.

Fescoe and Bukaty had an evening show called Bulldog and Bukaty that they carried over to 810 after 980 lost the rights to the Royals.

B&B would have shows post KK and post Royals games.

SSJ and Whitlock were teamed up until the “Maas Exodus” then John Renshaw came in to take over the morning slot while SSJ went FM with Randy Miller who had been doing work with WHB at the time. It may have been at the FM station Union owned for a short time.

SSJ and Fescoe started the Border Patrol after Renshaw freaked out while Bukaty did the Royals games. Bukaty took the spot after Fescoe went to St. Louis.

GH: Thanks for the history lesson, KC. Much appreciated.

Michael Coleman is not off to a good start. He appears nervous. He’s uncomfortable to watch. He was described as a “great story teller” when the hire was announced. I have yet to see that.

The words embarrassingly bad and Michael Coleman are seeming to go together. What I found embarrassingly bad was while that show was on the bottom scroll was showing scores. Several times it showed that the Lakes beat the Jazz 104-0. How can that get on the air without someone catching it???? Talk about embarrassingly bad.

I am starting to wish the Royals would trade Greinke, if only to save me the anguish of watching them ruin him …

My first impression of Michael Coleman, on the Sunday after the NFL draft: Stuart Scott wannabe. Instead of a relaxed, conversational delivery — consistent with Midwestern sensibilities — his style is fast-paced Eastern hip-hop hype, without the experience or talent to pull it off. Hence, as earlier noted, his mouth runs ahead of his thought process, and he strains to coin catchwords. Unless he gets some serious coaching, Coleman’s a short-timer in this size market (give him his ticket to Ottumwa to replace the stiff that’s up there).

Give Keegan credit for being the first to ever link Okung to Hall of Fame. He’ll probably also be the last one; Okung will be a solid LT in the NFL, but no one’s compared him yet to Jonathan Ogden. So this guy from Lawrence considers it a “terrible” draft because the Chiefs took Berry, a pick panned by none of the national NFL experts, and passed on three serviceable OTs — including his guy Okung. Engaging in this type of hyperbole does nothing to lend credibility to Keegan’s position, although I suspect he believes if he diminishes the Chiefs’ draft acumen as being “terrible” rather than “not what I would have done” somehow elevates his alternate wisdom. It doesn’t.

Tom Keegan is talking out of his ass. How can anyone say any rookie will be a HoF’er before they’ve even played one game in the pros?

What a completely ridiculous comment on his part.

ps – Why do you people watch local news and sports? What is wrong with you?
