Tony: Plaza Assault Charges Bust “Stop Snitchin” Myth

Among so many d-bag Internet commenters there is a long standing myth that Kansas City’s African-American Community deserves an inordinate amount of crime and violence because “they” don’t cooperate with the police.

Today, victims speaking out against Plaza violence disproved that stereotype.

The “stop snitchin” urban legend was first popularized in Kansas City by Pitch reporter Nadia Pflaum who is supposed to be an expert on African-American culture because she dates a Black dude who is a fashion designer and DJ. Like all things related to Nadia, I’m sure her intentions were pure but the way the story played out was sloppy, kinda gross and rather weird.

Armed with this knowledge of anecdotal and isolated “stop snitichn'” instances a great many racist white people then discounted the suffering of communities dealing with crime and actually blamed the victims of violence simply because of their area code and skin color.

This week those hateful generalizations can be put to an end with a rather courageous effort to stand up against young adults rioting on the Plaza by members of Kansas City’s African-American Community.

If this “snitching” thing is such a myth, why did Alonzo Washington invest so much time and money into the “Snitches for Riches” campaign?

And why have other African American leaders spoke up in hopes of getting more people to testify as witnesses against crimes?

I applaud these youths for cooperating with the police to help catch their friend’s assaulters. But trying to pinpoint this instance to disprove a “great many racist white people” is “sloppy”.

And your obsession with Nadia, and always pointing out that she happens to date a black man, is rather weird.

Nay; it is but the exception that establishes the existence of the general rule.

    Idiot.

I don’t know if the snitching thing is true or not but the Pitch reported that “Three witnesses’ parents wouldn’t let their children cooperate with the investigation.” So I’m not sure this turn of events disproves much of anything.

Tony’s unhealthy obsession with Nadia can be traced back to the article she wrote about him in 2007:

    http://www.pitch.com/2007-01-18/news/the-truth-about-tony/

She called him out on bad-mouthing a candidate who happened to be running against his mom for a 4th district seat, and he responded by posting her personal pictures and making snarky racial remarks about her boyfriend, as well as insinuating that he’s going to impregnante her. Classy stuff. And he’s been doing this for three years.

Tony can dish it but can’t take it out — criticize him (or point out the facts) and he’ll respond through personal attacks.

And if this site really is “Hearne Christopher” uncensored you’ll let this comment stand
