As time moves on….people will simply ask “so were you born before 2008 or after 2008”?

I guess a Wal-Mark Hyper Center and a couple of Car-Max’s would also kick ass on that corner….NO Gordon Biersch for me.

Well put Hearne. I wish the Johnson family well, they were very nice people. Its tough out there for everyone these days. Except the Royals, they are on top of it.

Hearne, nice scoop, I had no idea that this development was such a big mess or as huge a deal as this til now. Took the big casino, chapter 7, wow.

Here I thought Jeff Alpart and Doug Weltner went down hard out south, not as big as this bomb.

thats just the start of massive commercial
realestate crash. I know companies iwht
    half their space empty.
when commercial dies like it did at 135 and
metcalf its going to be a bloodbath
JO co is nothing but wal mart shoppers…don;’t
fool yourself….they are on borrowed time.

Hearne good points here, how did the Star not report this? Thats amazin. Course most of the KC projects fail.

Scoop? Really? How about actually reading the business section of the Star. I’ve seen it at least twice. jeez.

Joeblow yes the star did mention some problems out at that location, but never went into this detail about it being such a big financial bomb. Hearne lets us know this was suppose to be ‘the new plaza’ the star never said that. Who knows why. They pretend downtown is working, its a bigger mess.
