Let’s all just take a deep breath and relax. Nobody thought this team was Series bound this year anyway. Yeah, the bullpen sucks–did anybody expect it to be better running the same faces out there?
The good news is the starting pitching has been lights out. Is this the year it clicks on for Hochevar? Can Bannister last a full effective year?
Can’t we at least enjoy the opening homestand before we start crapping on everybody and everything Royals…

So long Trey. I was thinking while watching Wednesday’s game, after they blew it…and before they came back what if…they moved Davies to the pen and Tejada to the 5th starter after Meche gets back. Davies might be able to handle some long relief or set up work or, ah shit, no he can’t never mind me.
Just fire the manager, GM and let’s “rebuild” for another 20 years. And the K is a weak ass stadium. If I was a taxpayer paying for that tacky upgrade, I’d ask for a few dollars for getting screwed!

K is a fun stadium and the people who work there
are great. From the security to the ushers and
concession people these people are great.
However…like the rest of the worthless projects
in kc (union station/18th and vine/eventually
the p and l) whoever designed the stadium sure
screwed up. Last year with construction still
going on they had portable relief facilities.
Now they’re gone and the lines at the concession
and bathrooms are out of control. If there
ever was a group of idiots…its the people who
renovted the stadiums. What a bunch of freaking
    idiots.
The people who work there even complained because
they took the wrath of the complaints while
glass and moore sat in their suites.
Someone screwed up. Buit this is an epidemic
on projects here in kansas city.
Can someone please take the reins and turn kc
    around.

Bootyism…Beautiful! Tiger’s DEAD to me as is NIKE. I would love for Tom Watson to nail this thing almost as much as I wish Kelly Urich and Jason Whitlock would go away.

Until the money stops coming in at The K, we’re going to get what we got. Stop going to games! Call the Royals office and say you’re done until the product on the field improves. Don’t support any of the Royals sponsors and let them know it via polite phone calls or e-mails. Send a letter to MLB asking for regime change. If only twenty or thirty thousand people would do this we’d see some changes very quickly. We’ve got the power. MLB isn’t going to move this team. They know the fans in KC are rock solid and will support a winner.

Golf on radio and a bad Royals manager…this is like a twisted Night Gallery episode.

despite losing…the royals drew 1.7 million people…and they can do it again if the
economy stay the way it is…
they are giving away seats…literally fro free
because they know its not the seat its the
    concessions.
saw strouds had them lined up…chicken was
good but doesnt have tthe grease made famous
    at 85th and the bridge.
But it coud be a fun summer..greinke…hochevar…maybe crow when
they bring the guy up…but moore and hillmn
    are marked guys.
Moore has this little man complex..but he
cant put a team together. salmost like he
can’t put the final half of the puzzle
    together…
    so we’re stuck.

Even though I think he’ll probably fade by the weekend, I’m definitely pulling for Tom Watson. however, listening to Keitzman, Jack Harry and some golf guy named Tom Corrigan slobber all over Watson–I’m beginning to lean toward Freddy.
As for the Royals–I was willing to overlook Trey Hillman’s lack of big league experience (never played). However it’s quite clear he was ill-prepared mentally and emotionally to handle public criticism compared to someone who may have experienced dealing with the media as a player.

Does Watson ever talk to the local media?

Cliff good, very good point. For a guy who is treated as well as Tom is by the media here, our biggest sports name next to Brett and Dawson, he does little with interviews in fact almost none. Don’t get it.

You have to give 76 year old Len Dawson lots of credit, he is very available to press here and nationally. He has been excellent in being our only top name sports guy in the media for 50 years. He is “Lenny the Cool” and yes I know he has had his bad moments like George with fans and the drinking, but hey he gets bugged to death as well. He handles the press very well.

    craig glazer
As for Tiger Woods, I think you now can see the truth. NOBODY GAVE A F..K ABOUT THE CHEATING OTHER THAN THE CRAP THE PRESS CREATED. There is nobody around the club with signs or saying anything but clapping for the guy…he did what thing all top sports stars have done, bang girls,do a bit of partying and acted like the billionaire champion he is….sorry….yes it was not nice that he did it while married, but so did everyone else, Palmer, Mantle,Montana, so on and so on,Coby, the list goes on and on…not fair to single him out…

And for the haters, he only made his legend bigger, Nikke was smart to stick with this winner, he is only gonna be bigger now…now he is NOT BORING..GOLF IS BORING WITHOUT HIM AND CONTROVERSY…THEY NEEDED IT…IN TWO YEARS IT WLLL JUST BE A SMILE AND A LIGHT JOKE…AND YES HE IS GETTING DIVORCE,,,,poor Erin, gets l00 plus million to start over at 27 and marry the next man of her dreams…she will be just fine..so calm down…I have not met anyone that Tiger “let down” thats all medai bullshit….

LOL! I just spit iced tea on my monitor Hall! Not every day you can throw out a Carradine reference. Nicely played!

Tom Watson did several interviews last year after the British open and also during the Tiger controversy where he complained about his lack of respect for the game. Which as Tiger has returned has agreed with and said he would do better.

Wow Craig you are so far off. You of all people should understand about audience and crowds. Let’s take your line of work. Comedy. Their are people that are hard core fans. They will come out and cheer no matter what or who. They just love comedy.

Then their is what we call the main stream fan. That is the person looking for the “name” comedian and has less knowledge and interest in those that are not well known. Its the same logic that has Starlight bring in Phyllis Diller because she is a “name” and will attract attention.

So you are basing the truth that Tiger is more popular then ever because hard core golf fans cheered him like crazy when he was in his element. Whopppeeeee. With that logic when Sarah Palin speaks to “her” crowd then she must be the greatest politician the Republican’s have ever seen. Or Clay Akins is the greatest American Idol. These people are playing to their audience. That doesn’t mean they are huge main stream popular.

I mean if their was any truth to your logic then all the publicists would be getting their clients to F*ck 20 women and lose millions of dollars of contracts in ad support so they can come back BIGGER and BETTER then ever.

Craig you are just being plain silly.

There is a cloud of mystery around Len Dawson regarding his wife’s death. I don’t recall the exact details. Also wasn’t known for being a particularly great father to his kids. Had some alleged issues with booze but nothing serious.

With the money tied up in Masters passes nobody is gonna heckle Tiger and get the boot from Augusta now and forever. Too many coppers and feds working under cover. The scorn of 18+ women has yet to be felt. Tiger’s got some serious shit coming his way. When this is all said and done he’s gonna make John Edwards look like Ward Cleaver.

Lots of people have been let down by Tiger. It’s not just media driven. He’s OJ Simpson with menstrual blood on his hands. I could see him doing a Michael Hutchence, David Carridine, Spandau Ballet move. The girls say he likes it freaky and rough. He’s definitely a candidate.

Holy shit between Clinton,Congress,Pfizer and Tiger’s Shmeck…watching the news or ball game with your kids is more uncomfortable than watching Sopranos.
I really feel sorry for Tiger and his Billion dollars. Really feel bad that he had to give up his addiction to vagina so he could go back to playing golf. Be Like Tiger,Mike, and Charles. NICE

Any comparison between Tiger Woods and OJ Simpson is completely asinine. In two years he will be beloved again because of the “greatest comeback story ever told.” Just watch, the American consumer will eat it up and clean their mouth with a Nike emblazoned napkin. OJ is a killer. There’s no comeback from what he did…but probably only because he wasn’t punished for it. If he went to prison and “reformed” and apologized people would eat that up too!

Wrongo Steve and Dexter! Tiger WILL do something down the pike that will involve the death of a woman. The pathology is there. He’s gonna be hounded 24/7 by the paps and will snap. He’s lost control of the one thing he had the most control over, his image. No poon hound with his level of addiction is gonna do the monogamy thing. Now that the cats out of the bag anybody with dirt to dish on Tiger is gonna lawyer up to sell their story or photos ASAP.

Lots of people that loved, liked, adored or admired Tiger have turned on him. He will never be the Ali-Ghandi-MLK figure his daddy predicted.

  33. Anonymous says:

    Harry Balczak
Ghandi? Come on man, the guy is a golfer not a humanitarian. Any thoughts of comparing him to Ghandi or MLK were stupid, even before the scandal. Ali maybe, but at least Ali stood for something. Tiger stands for himself.

Harry, it was the late Earl Woods that predicted that Tiger would become a global, unifying , figure/leader. I agree that it was a ridiculous statement but no one in the media questioned the comment when he made it.

Well if you’re so sure that Tiger is going to murder a woman in the future, you should probably let her know. I think she’d be interested to hear the details.
I remember his dad saying that about him but I think it was pretty obvious in the last few years that wasn’t going to happen. He cursed a lot on the golf course, wouldn’t take the bait to address racial issues…he was just the Michael Jordan of golf…which is now an even better comparison had TMZ been around to document Jordan’s philandering at the top of his game in the 90’s and up to his divorce a while back. I enjoy watching him play golf bc he’s the best and that’s it. In my opinion he should give the wife a big ass paycheck and let her go, then do what he wants. Doesn’t owe me anything.

Watching tigers interview after the masters
    was really interesting.
He apparently puts so much pressure on himself
to win and compete that it overtakes everything
in his life. Its like a incredible addiction to
the feeling that you get when competing and
    winning.
I think tht same thing transferred to his
private life. He got the beautiful woman but
winning just one woman wasn’t enough. He needed
more women..more women to conquer..more women
to sleep with…more women to win over and have
sex with him…its his addictive personality
on and off the golf course. He has some serious
    problems.
But he is a great golfer but he really needs to
loosen up and realize its not all about
conquests on the course and in bed.
