I’m not sure if this is a rip off story or Rick is an idiot story. I usually go to discount movie theater. But the last two weeks I made exceptions. Went to the casino movie theater. Stopped by a police man in Randolph because my license plate light wasn’t bright enough. Then paid $18.00 to see Legion which then came out the next week at the discount theater.

Last weekend I went and saw Crazies at Independence 20. Two people $20.00 and then $15.00 for nachos, drink, and water. Date wasted most of the nachos. As I left I started thinking I could of seen the same movie mon-thur before 5 pm for $5.00. What an idiot.

As far as barbecue I finally have given up on Jackstack and trying to get them to give me lean beef. I’ll request it and then see get beef that is trimmed in fat. Don’t know why this is such a hard request. Rosedale doesn’t seem to have a problem with it.

Oh in fairness. The policeman was very nice and no I didn’t get a ticket. He did ask me if I knew a Hearne and I said “no.” He said good because we are always looking out for that guy 🙂

I also took advantage of the Pizza Hut any pizza for $10.00 deal and that was good.

Jack, why wasn’t their more of a outcry about Sean Penn’s comments. I thought that really took a way for the Sandra win and was low class.

    Hey Rick,
Sean Penn is a great actor. You can’t take that away from him. I guess everything else about him is pretty low class.
    Thanks for sharing
    jack p.

concur. He has great range as an actor. I just was stunned he would use that forum to share his disappointment about his ex-wife not getting a nomination.

Come on, Jack! Wyandot is the last-ditch, barbecue of last resort. Unfortunately, I tried the new Hayward’s on Santa Fe west of Antioch last Friday, and the beef was stringy and tough. Didn’t taste like the same, good old Hayward’s pit. Great sauce, though!

We had a bad food experience at Wyandot BBQ as well. Never going back. As for Chucky Cheese it’s sure no gourmet pizza. What a screwing you got even without the tokens.

Randolph, Missouri is the land of milk and honey for the local coppers. They bust so many people for speeding and DUI’s on the back road into the casino it’s not even funny.

guys…stick with gates. The sauce covers up
everything that could possibly be bad.
As far as chuckie cheese…the worst pizza
…frozen or delivery but they pack in the
kid for the parensts money and its big bucks.
Kids could less what the pizza tastes like..
    its the “atmosphere” they cherish!
Guys…stick to that theatre in mission
called cinemark. One admission and you can
watch all the shows you want. Noones ever there
and you don’t have to fight to get a great vseat.
Don’t forget bates city bar bq at about 65th and
quivira…wholes slabs $9.99 and the best
    fries anywhere.
    Restaurants are hurting…using lower quality
    beef…lesser grade of ingredients…cutting
on portions so don’t expect to get the same
quality you got a year ago.

Hmmm… I have had good luck with Wyandot BBQ. Pretty tasty. Never had the burnt ends though.

    FACTS
I am a BBQ expert, and sure there are many many choices ,,I have triedf tme all, but after 100 years of doing this ..I have not had bad BBQ in 10 years.

    1) Ribs -Gates
(Ask to “pick a slab”, usually when you/they do this, both slabs are PERFECTO good ones.)

    2) Beef Sandwich- Bryants
(talk to the man in the window, ask for lean he will take care of you.)

    3) BEST Burnt end – RJs in Mission (I am stunned how good Bob does his burnt ends ,,they are really really good)

    4) Best bad fries Rosedale/ Wyandot

    5) Pulled Pork Oklahoma Joes

There is no reason to go anywhere else or order anything else when you go to the specific spots.

I dont mess around. I dont buy BBQ anywhere on the planet, it all sucks.. I ONLY eat the above AT THE ABOVE….. IT IS EASY, Just do it and be happy. nuf sed.

Wyandot is a grease pit, whether you eat at the original at 85th & State or #2 (appropriately named) at 75th and Metcalf. Nothing but fat on any of the beef, but especially the burnt ends.

I agree with jojo – the Cinemark @ I-35 and Johnson Drive is $6 (really!) for all shows…except matinees, which are $4. And Bates City ribs are now $10.99 a slab, but it’s still a steal. Agree on the fries.

    Leave that Wyandot alone, man.

IF you are saying that Jackstack BBQ is fatty, you are sadly mistaken. Even before you ask for lean it’s already pretty clean cut. And if you don’t like it, ask for them to do it again. Although if your being overly picky, don’t be surprised if you get the same results. JS definitely goes above and beyond to make good food and happy customers.

Wow, you guys are making my mouth water. All this talk about burnt ends, when I was in town recently for MF Celeb Roast I wanted badly to make a stop at Haywards for some burnt ends..God do I miss them! Nothing like that in Madison, Famous Daves is OK but KC BBQ is the best, hands down.

    rock on..

    Facts: Right On!
I believe that procedure at Gates is called SHOWTIME!

Burnt Ends are an art that was perfected at Sneads BBQ…called Beef Brownies…Jack Stack is OK at it…but for most of the places its a hustle. They make it low end like Rib Tips.

    Fast- RJs Burnt Ends Rule
I dont work for RJs or have anything to gain from saying how good his brunt ends are( except your gratitude if you have not tried them).

I used to drive the 4 hours (aka 30 minutes) to 135th & Holmes for Sneads burnt ends( is that the right place? ) they used tobe the best B.E.s( but the sold the place a couple of times ) now I just head over to Johnson Drive and Lamar.

Try it, you’ll like it, if you like burnt ends, RJs does them right, and good burnt ends are hard to find.

I emant to say in my first post,”I don not order BBQ anywhere else on the planet. Most BBQ is crap, but if you stick with my list, you can not go wrong.

    PS
Iam NOT vouching for ANYONE’s sauce, that is too personal, but for the meat…stick to my list, pick you own sauce, and you will be fat and happy.

    PPS
I will do the Dot or Rosedale for the best bad fries and best bad BBQ, but for the real McCoy …. dang I am hungry now too ; )

I’ve gotten the fatty burnt ends at Wyandot also. I do like their sauce thought. Not very thick but it has a little bit of spice

surprised there were no thugs fighting at the chuck e cheese. those stories are on drudge every week.

if a store treats you bad, tell them and demand a refund. if they won’t, never go back and tell everyone you can about their bad business.

    the customer is always right.

Hi Jack. You should go online and register for Chuck E Cheese emails. You get monthly specials, including deals for tons of tokens. Their pizza certainly isn’t gourmet; but my grandchildren eat every bite & they do have good hot dogs and a rather decent salad bar. I love playing with my grandchildren at the one out North!
