Funny, I didn’t even think the play as “Porter the black player making a play on a pass by Peyton the white player.” I just thought it was a good play by a CB on a questionable pass by a QB.

It’s loaded, jaded writing like this that discredits the work of Jason Whitlock and other similar writers.

    Wow. Unbelievable.

Jason’s gone to the racism well so often, I figure that thing would have dried up by now.

What’s his take on Caldwell v. Payton then?

I’m pulling for Nick. For about 6 months, I was hooked on online poker right after I graduated from college. I probably dropped $6,000 in that time and I was not making very much money at all. But I cut myself off as well and I haven’t been back. You just gotta find other things to keep you busy. You can do it Nick.

I was in high school working at Wendy’s and I remember a buddy of mine called the store to tell me Tyson had gotten knocked out. So we turned on the radio and it was all over the news. I remember we told every customer that came through the line and not one of them believed it. He was truly considered unbeatable.

Can we get a Nick Wright/Soren Petro update? Is Soren still just jealous cause Nick’s career is so much brighter than his?

Get back on the porch Big Sexy…it’s all on the black receiver not running the right route. Still not convinced that Roger Goodell didn’t go Vince McMahon on this game. You know what they say about being too good to be true. Roger probably bet the house through a third party on the Saints to win straight up. Cash flow is gonna be lean in 2011.

I have played with Nick at the boats, by the way he is a very strong ‘hold’em’ player…that said, so am I and yeah in time, you tend to lose money not win…ask MoneyMaker(champ on Espn’s show in Vegas, lost his millions he won on show)..

Betting on football and playing poker, is fun, but its hard to set and keep limits, even for the pros….so you gotta be unemotional and only bet what you can afford to lose…

In the end, best to make it a once in a while activity….hey, I had the Colts in the Super Bowl, so what do I know…the most dough I ever win is betting against the Chiefs early in the year…and I hate to have to do that…so Nick I hear you…

Man Whitlock thinks controversy will make up for laziness. He’s really turned in to a bad writer.

I would consider myself a consistent loser at poker as well and have dabbled at the casino and online. Probably lost a grand in 5 years overall. 70K is a problem. A big one. Just remember, if you’re playing Asians in NL hold em, raise raise raise.

Everyone has their addictions it would seem.

Whitlock is addicted to idiocy and Nick has gambling. Seems pretty normal to me.

I would love to see how The Star is able to quantify Jason’s contribution to the bottom line, because as a writer and a human being he is probably the winner in the lacking quite a bit department as far as media folks go in this town. He surely brings them bags of cash all the time. That can be the only explanation for the Star to hang on to him. So I guess we can say without a hint of irony that The Star is willing to overlook his shortcomings, which includes him probably violating every ethics standard know to journalism so they can make a few bucks. His contribution to The Star seems to overshadow any that the rest of the company has.

Like Nick I have my addictions as well but gambling isn’t one of them. The last time I was at any boat I lost $100. I’ve have a lot of friends who frequented the boats daily in between their obsession with scratch off tickets. Almost to a person, they have all discovered how fun it is to lose thousands of dollars every year to our out of town gaming companies. I was so pissed when I walked out of there the last time that I could of strangled myself. That was 14 years ago and I’m still pissed. In gambling I was very lucky to discover that it didn’t take much for me to quit going. Too bad that my discovery concerning my other addictions took decades to get a handle on.

The old adage still rings true today in that those giant hotels, boats everywhere in the country and the Vegas that everyone knows and loves was not built on giving money back to the gamblers.

I have to rant a little about Lawrence T-Shirt Guy. I’ll drop $20,000+ into that economy this year and $40+ next year so give me a little ink if not hoops tickets.

They went after T-Shirt Guy for MONEY-IMAGE-WINNING-DOMINATION!
Hearne is spot on for having a passion for this story because its the shot across the bow of whats in store for the first amendment.

Our Coach Is Phat–Our Coach Can Eat Your Coach…..is a trademark infringement? Frank Martin Mows My Yard…is it in poor taste? Is Frank Martin in Poor Taste for slugging his player(I mean flicking)?… I don’t know…why don’t we let the free market figure it out. Quit punishing risk takers, job givers, and tax payers…not good business nor karma.

In the name of good taste…Kansas Athletic Dept should worry about recruiting Blue Chip student athletes…preferably ones that don’t shoot guns out of windows, drop trou in elevators, riot on campus… and forget about legislating T-Shirts and Bumper Stickers.

bsnoz…you’re wrong. If someone came and
took hearnes (highly popular ..lol) site
name he’d use his trust fund to sue their
    asses off.
If someone came and took your property and
name and used it…you’d do the same.
This was decided by a jury..not a judge and
the jury said the rights were infringed upon.
Had the t shirt guy wanted to avoid a legal
battle and the costs he could have stopped
selling the shirts…and done something else.
Obviously you are for the”little guy”…but
those names/rights have huge values and those
people wh own them want them protected.
If someone took your company name..or hearnes
do you think either of you would sit still…
    its a law…the jury decided…and thats how
    the system works.
fair…no…but if you play and lose..you lose.

    guys…remember deniros lines in “casino”
the suckers come and blow their money…they
don’t build billion dollar palaces in vegas
without knowing you guys are coming to drop
    your retirement…mortgages…and 401k.s
Mandalay bay ran out of money in tgheir new
hotel..went to china and borrowed billions from
the chinese at 12-13% INTEREST…but they knew
they could pay off the loan in 3-5 years.
You never beat the casino…you just temporarliy
    hold their money.
Obviously noone thats posted has made any money
playing cards at the kc casinos. Those casinos
are the easiest to scoot cards and gang up on
a player. When they saw wright coming they knew
he was a sucker player and a guy who’s down
is a easy point for con men.
The tables at harrahs are filled with cheats.
They find a whale and beat his head in by
what they call “sluffing”…2 or 3 players
working to force a guy out of the game broke.
You will never beat them. The odds at poker
with the people playing will cost you big money.
In vegas…they make hundreds of millions of
    dollars a year…in a good year $500 million…
in a not so good year $300 million.
Its like someone opening a business and knowing
they are not going to make a profit. Would you
    do it.
It’s the action…its the thrill of the action.
But you are going to lose.
Friend of mine was a pit boss at harrahs..
said they know that they will win one hand more
than you do over a period of time. If you
play $25 a hand…over an hour they will win
    $25 from you.
So take your money and be like gavin and
can’t say…get some cheap hookers off the
street. It will save you money in the long run.

    bsnoz—really? jojo you really are
a good blogger but why do you want to
bully me? I think T-shirt guy did stop
printing those shirts like “muck fizzou”
    clearly dangerous words…you could buy
    “Tuck Fexas”shirts anywhere in Arkansas
in 1969. I’m sure they lawyered that
shit out of that kid..don’t ya think?

jojo– do you subscribe to that idiom
“I don’t care to belong to any club
that will have me as a member” Hey, I
like this site, I read these guys at the
Star and now found them here, its
in real time and interactive. GH is a
1st Tier blogger…I’ve seen these type
of sites grow from small blogspots into real
biz…so best of luck KCC! Keep up the good
    work!

Gambling: As Buffet likes to say
“The market is designed to transfer
money from the active to the patient”.
Or maybe “The market can remain irrational
a hell of lot longer than you can remain solvent”

Mike was mostly intimidation and reputation. their were real questions about if he could take a punch since he never had. Most guys were beat before they entered the ring. I feel guilty about bragging about this after the Nick admission. And many casino’s wouldn’t even take a Tyson bet because he was such an overwhelming favorite. But of those few that did….I made a boat load of money on that fight and for about 10 days was THE MAN at work for calling it. M. Moyer wherever you are I still got it, on occasion….
