It’s amazing how much Fescoe and Nate Bukaty both just don’t know, in regard to the sports world and pop culture. Listening to the Border Patrol, Steven, Jake and Aaron constantly have discussions where Nate has no idea who or what they’re talking about. Today, he barely had an idea who Shaun White was. I know you’re a busy guy Nate and you have a baby at home, but spend 30 minutes a day with Google Reader and a selection of sports/pop culture blogs and you’ll be up to speed. It’s not that hard.

Extra KU slobbering in this post. Almost like it’s tongue in cheek. Keep building that hype, it’ll make it so much more fun to cover the fall.

    Right GH?

KK believes Collins “has a chance to be remembered as the greatest….? That cookie diet must be brutal. I rarely listen to any of the babbling fools, but against my better judgement tuned-in just in time for the Racin’ Boys. Argued for 30 minutes about luck vs.skill in racing. Gripping. Danica does grip the wheel very well….maybe there’s something to it.

Running around fast in a circle to get nowhere, spending lots of money, and you either get killed or retire to a double-wide in Alabama.
    Now that’s entertainment.

Look, I love Sherron Collins like jojo loves the caps lock key, cheap whiskey and jean shorts but Sherron Collins has a long way to go to even get to second place on the list as the all time greatest at KU. At this point he is no better than fourth, in my opinion, behind Danny Manning, Wilt Chamberlain and Clyde Lovellette, each of whom was the NCAA Tournament MOP. You could argue, at this point, that Sherron is even behind Mario Chalmers, also the tourney MOP. I’d say that if Sherron gets that award this year, he will be ahead of Mario Chalmers but he’s going to have to do some special stuff to get ahead of those other three.

Collins will be in top three if KU wins out…

You may be right, dp. I’d have him behind Manning & Chamberlain. I hate to cut out Lovellette but he was before my time so it’s a personal thing. But I think that if he’s going to get to the top three, he’ll either have to be tourney MOP or win player of the year. If the team wins the whole thing and Collins is “just” an All-American, he will still be a hero in Lawrence (which was going to happen anyway), but I don’t think he makes the top four unless he distinguishes himself like the rest of those guys did.

What’s really interesting is what happens if KU wins the whole thing and Aldrich is the MOP. Does that move him ahead of Sherron?

If I had to bet, I’d bet on K-State to beat WV, Pitt and Louisville on a neutral court. Not saying they should be more than a 5-point favorite in any case.

Of course, I think WV is overrated.

Overall, I think K-State is a legit top-15 team. That said, I think Syracuse, Villanova and Georgetown are clearly better.

Also, the Big East has 16 friggin’ teams.
