So far there’s been noone who can take on
collins.
If i was a big 12 coach..i’d take one guy and
tell him to follow collins..be in his face..
from the time he leaves the bench..til the
time he leaves the court.
Baylor let this guy roam around the court
and so have many of the other teams.
If you take this guy out of the game ku
has real problems.

KU Basketball is our best area sports program, by far. Right now the team as mentioned is just a good ball club, but far from the NBA team we were expecting to maybe go 30 and and 0 and win the national title. Right now they couldn’t be a final four team. However I think Bill Self is the man and he will get them there. Only Collins and the two twins are playing at championship level. Henry and Cole are not there yet….however its better to get better as the year moves on then to peak now, and lose that in March…I trust Bill will get them in shape for a run…anyways they are the best thing we have in this area so lets stay the course. Nice that K State and MU are also playing so well. Big l2 is the now the best basketball conference in America for the first time, maybe ever.

And this Frank Martin story will not die. I am as doubtful of Kietzman as the next guy, but at what point is there too much smoke to deny there’s a fire? If I were a K-State fan, I might start to think about considering the idea of getting nervous. As Teddy KGB said in Rounders, “Pay that man. Pay that man his money.”

I am a Jayhawk fan, but I am no homer. I will say that Xavier Henry IS NOT living up to the hype. I hope that means we have him another year. For anyone who says we are a one player team, I am laughing, uh?? Have you noticed that monster we have on the inside? ( and a white guy at that ).
We are loaded with talent, and we will go deep into the tournament, but you goofs who act, and say, we must win it all to be a success are being foolish.
Come on, it is a game to watched for fun ,and KU is the most fun. They DO NOT have to destroy every team every night. Those teams have talent, every kid playing in the NCCA has talent, and on any given Sunday, …… AND THATS WHY THEY PLAY THE GAME.

KU isn’t really concerned with winning over fans. Plenty of fans will flock to a winner. Hell, look at K-State and Mizzou. Those teams win a couple of games and suddenly you can’t buy a ticket. Except at Mizzou where winning isn’t enough and they won’t show up for a game until the Big XII starts up. I’m sure the Big Ten has noticed the amazing fan support Missouri fans give their team and are salivating at the prospect of getting the Tigers into their league.
Ptolemy, I’ve disagreed with you in terms of rooting allegiance in the past, but I’ve always thought of you as a credible guy. But predicting two K-State victories against KU is a bit beyond the pale, buddy. And then to suggest that we care enough about beating you to commit suicide if K-State does indeed win them both (when was the last time K-State swept the season series from KU anyway? It has to have been at least 25 years, right? So, I’m guessing it hasn’t happened in your lifetime), shows how out of touch you are with reality. We want to beat you, sure, but we have bigger fish to fry. The last time you beat us we went on to win the league and national championships and that’s a trade I’ll make every day. If you do sweep them this year, good on ya. But if you actually think KU thinks about K-State THAT much, it tells me that it’s really YOU that will be the suicidal one of Frank Martin’s “Manhattan Miracle” really turns out to be the Manhattan Mirage. Get your priorities in line, dude. Why don’t you focus on bigger goals than beating your big brother and maybe think about winning a championship or something?

Blade – I don’t think Hockey is a Big 10 sport. Michigan, Michigan St and Ohio St. all have teams, but they’re in a conference with a bunch of other schools. Not sure exactly how it works.

them.
Of course taking colins out is tough…but
if you watch the games ku loses, the opponent
makes ku shoot from the outside and thats
where they have a tough time.
Don’t let collins shoot the 3…don’t let
him penetrate (maybe use a zone defense) and
force ku to shoot from outside.
I’ve watched ku in ncaa tourney and the games
they lost the other team didnt let them
dribble inside or pass inside…thaqts about
the only way to beat ku.
I doubt mu has much of chance in doing that..
because they run that 40 minutes of heck
defense (which is good against most teams
but not ku…self knows how to beat that
defense)….so I look for mu to get whooped
in lawrence…but i would not be surprised
if they go to final 16 or elite 8 in tournament
if they get hot at the end of the season.
