When will these great offensive guru’s Chan and Todd meet?

    ___

GH: Buffalo comes to Arrowhead this season — December 13th. Mark your calendar for the fireworks.

The question about how many NBA players are on K-State’s roster is an interesting one. Curtis Kelly has the talent, if he ever gets the motivation to play with 100% effort all the time. Wally Judge will eventually play in the NBA and Jamar Samuels has a shot. Jamar is classified as a sophomore because of his redshirt year. Denis Clemente, Dominique Sutton and Jacob Pullen all have futures in Europe.

    Greg,

Put down the crack pipe. “True passion comes from being the underdog…” WTF? So, all those Dookies who camp out for a week in Kryzewskiville or whatever they call it are less passionate than the K-State fans who got up at 4:30 that very morning? I’m not syaing the K-State fans aren’t passionate and god damn they are venemous, but to equate passion only with being an underdog is one of the more ridicuoous things you’ve said. I don’t expect you to back off from this because you aren’t that guy, but underdogs, while passionate, aren’t necessarily more passionate than the guys that are favored. Kentucky, a school full of asshole overdogs if ever there was one, sold out their FIRST PRACTICE. That’s passion too. Never mind whether K-State is more passionate than KU, but K-State has been an underdog in basketball for about twenty-five years and NOW they’re filling up Bramlage because they’re good. Where was the passion 20 out of the last 25 years when they’ve also been underdogs?

By the way, you said it yourself. K-State wans’t an underdog in this game. Vegas had them as favorites. They’re in the top ten and they played at home Monday night. They definitely don’t sound like underdogs in that game. Now, if you want to say they play with a chip on their shoulder and they share that trait with their fan base, that’s different. But you didn’t say that, did you?

GH: Great quote from Clinkscale. Our expectations of Kansas is such that the outcome is rarely questioned. We simply go to the Fieldhouse or watch on television to evaluate the performance and determine if all the players were in good singing voice.

GH: Storming the court is fun for huge underdogs or when KSU broke the Jayhawk jinx at Bramlage two seasons ago. Kansas State was neither against Texas. Perception is everything in a sport where you depend on people voting for your program to determine your ranking and eventual seed in the NCAA Tourney. Leave the court storming to those teams who expect little from their season
FKN-A dude, Every once is a while when my MIGHTY KANSAS JAYHAWKS happen to not win, and the other dorks storm the floor, I take it as a compliment. I find it amusing that they are so giddy over a mere victory, we are used to that at KU.

I was proud of KSU for not storming the floor, good for them.

Agree with two points GH…I don’t think anyone on KSU will be an NBA player. Some guys will get looks (Pullen, Kelly, Samuels perhaps) but there aren’t a lot of jobs open at ‘the next level’. Look at what college all americans like Simieon, LaFrentz and Collison have done in the pros…they are scrubs. And don’t give me the ‘they made lots of money’ argument KU fans, that doesn’t make them good players.

Also, it pains me to say this as a K-State fan/grad, but I do love Allen Fieldhouse. I’ll also say though it’s different since Lew Perkins moved everybody’s seats around. I have three friends that have had their seats moved…the crowd is more ‘wine and cheese’ as Roy Williams put it. I remember going to games in the early/mid 90s and it was nasty there, two games in particular, one against Jason Sutherland’s MU and another against Iowa State when they had Kelvin Cato and Kenny Pratt where it was nuts in that building. I’ve been there three times in the last four years (including when KSU won there to break the 31 game streak) and it isn’t as loud/passionate as it once was.

    ___

GH: I think Jason Sutherland might be the greatest hero/villain player in MU/KU basketball history. Some Jayhawks believe he was a descendant of Quantrill.

Why do Nick Wright or Sam Mellinger care if a bunch of college kids storm the court? Are we critiquing youth behavior or breaking down the game?

“K-State has had a number of down BB years to allow that venom to percolate. It

Fuck Wayne Simien. That fkn puke. I will forever remember when he choked at a critical moment, he blew it …. he had the shot, he had the ball, he turned around, he owned the shot, and he fucking bricked it, and my beloved Jayhawks went down in flames in the big dance. I was so sad that night, Simien disgraced his team. FK HIM.

BUT FROM THOSE FLAMES …. FROM THOSE ASHES AROSE A MIGHTY NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM, YES !!! !!

YES WE LEARNED,,,WE ARE WINNER S,,, AND WE PROVED THAT WINNERS WIN!!

I WILL FOREVER REMEMEBER MARIO NOT CHOKING AND HITTING THAT CLUTCH SHOT HEARD ROUND THE NCAA !!! YES NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!

see? I am no homer, I call a fk a fk, and Simion was a fk.

AND MARIO IS A HERO!!! make the basket, win the game. JUST DO IT, and that is why I love this team, and why Caoch Self is one of the greatest, only history will tell, but as of now, we are locked and loaded. I am only stating the facts.

There’s way too much analysis about whether fans should rush the floor or what kind of chants they yell. Like he overrated chant. Invariably some high-brow talk show host will say how that diminishes what your team did and not the other. Whatever. Believe me, being on the receiving end of that chant as a fan and participant–stings.

This is why diluisional moronU fans are AWLAYS BLABBING bullshit about moron U teams even as their teams are utter SHIT!!

GH: “While I love the pregame hype and tradition inside The Phog, there is very little viciousness emanating from the stands. It is the tradeoff for greatness.”

I was stunned to see the old people who occupy the prime seats @ The Phog actually get up and cheer last night as they realized Baylor wasn’t going to just roll over and that their Hawks might like some encouragement from the crowd. I can’t remember the last time I saw all of those folks rise up and cheer during the middle of a game.
