Warren Buffet once said to a college student “Don’t worry about how much money your going to make, but rather find something your passionate about. And the money will take care of itself”. Joe clearly has a passion for his business and it shows.
Great article and BEST BURGER *****

Some things in life are a mystery to me. This guy and his restaurants would be one of them. At the time he had Joe Joe’s Italian Eatery I worked in the area. I tried it once. It was alright. But nothing special.

When he bought the old Hardees and changed it to Joe’s burgers I again tried it. Very disappointing and quite frankly the place was a dump. I do know he made a pretty penny when he sold the place to Starbucks.

This guy’s success is something I have no explanation for. And needless to say i haven’t tried the Flea Market since he took over it.

I appreciate that he kept a local institution in town (where was he when we needed someone to buy Nichol’s?)but not sure if he’s the guy for the job.

All I have to say is thank God for Joe Zwillenberg. The thought of a crappy Hooters going in that spot was enough to send me into depression when it looked like a done deal. Joe saved one of the great KC restaurants. One that I do not mind at all driving to from JOCO for a burger. If I see Joe next time I am at the Flea I will be sure to tell him thanks for keeping this legendary restaurant open. Why sourpusses like rick have to gripe and complain is beyond me.

Please read “Appreciate that he kept a local institution in town”. That being said my guess is you hate reading Hall, restaurant reviews, and movie reviews. All those sourpusses griping and complaining about bad movies and bad restaurants. It’s all good in la la land.

Joe Zwillenberg is not very nice
Yeah but he’s also an insufferable jerk who acts up when he doesn’t get his way. Otherwise, sure neat guy.

    Persistence
Rick: It’s persistence. You don’t have to be great, just you know…keep bothering people like telemarkerters do. It is its own talent, not a penchant for food (I mean he admits to stealing a menu anyone could have come up with) but he’s got the gift of pushing until he gets what he wants. Now someone explain why we’re bumping a conversation from 2009?

    Joe’s a great guy
Joe’s a real good guy. He’s the kind of man who will listen to your complaints and really cares about customers. I’ve dealt with him first hand and he’s great at handling uncomfortable situations.
