Jennifer: Chez What? Chez Elle Creperie & Coffeehouse

Is your Christmas wish to indulge in warm, fragrant crepes, exquisite pastries, homemade soups and local coffee in an inviting space just blocks from downtown?

With a little over a week until Christmas, your wish has been granted.

Today Chez Elle Creperie and Coffeehouse officially opened to the public. It’s located at the burgeoning crossroads of 17th and Summit, joining local favorites like Westside Local and Bluebird. They’re expecting the usual neighborhood characters, bohemian artists, Westside urban trailblazers and families that have been in this area for generations.

I had no more room, but I sacrificed myself for the sake of this story and ordered a vanilla pudding-filled chocolate eclair. hehehehe : )

You made me hungry for crepes …. right now. Are those strange hours, or am I missing something? When a place has hours like those, somehow, I always try them when they closed. I dont keep track, and then lose interest, but for the love of crepes, we will try this.

I need to open a 24/7 creperie called “Holy Crepe”, after the late great Peter Boyle ….. but …… I am hungry now.

For that type of business they are normal hours. Tried the website and they said their was no listing. Would like to check out a menu prior to going.

once again, to your credit Jennifer, you’ve ignited my curiosity with another one of your renditions of the latest foodie hot spots in KC. You know I’ve eaten the food you talk about a hundred times but after I read your elequant descriptions suddenly it is as if I am trying it for the very first time. So I guess I’ll veer off the cart path to City Center Square, bypass Planet Sub and KFC and slither on down to Chez Elle Creperie and Coffeehouse to see what all the commotion is about. Again thanks for the great foodie coverage I lok forward to reading many more articles from Jennifer Janesko.

looking around KC (primarily known for its BBQ) may soon be known for coffee. With the quaint and rustic backdrops just about everywhere one looks, and the blustery winter temps coffee shops work in KC. And, when one grows tired of choc/caramel turtles and dried up coffee cake why not accompany the bean with crepes? I think Chez Elle Creperie and Coffeehouse is on to something here.. Does anyone have pics of the inside they can post online? ETA on website?
