    Brian,
Is this your first viewing of Wicked? What I’m wondering is was it the touring cast that left you wanting or the musical itself? Will those of us who loved the show in previous viewings be disappointed with this version or is this version of Wicked as entertaining as the one that played KC in 2008?

First time seeing the show, Greg. So can anyone compare this version of “Wicked” with a previous?

Speaking as another 50-ish guy, Brian, who saw it last time with his tween girls, you’re right: It’s good, not great.

    You da’man Brian.

We expect you to call like you see it … and write that way too.

    Thank you for the insight.
I always wondered about this show, I have never seen it, and I will wait a while longer. I respect your opinion.

Brian: Nice use of the word turgid.

It’s all in what tickets you have. I went in 2008 and it was disappointing. The Music Hall is not the greatest if you aren’t in front. If you are in front the show is wonderful. Can’t wait for the new performing arts building.

Apparently you were disinterested enough to misspell the main character’s name. Check your program–it’s spelled ‘Elphaba’.

I love spell check people. God forgive them.

Rick, if we are to be our brothers, (and sisters), keeper I think God is ok with breaking balls on spell check.

Cast and perhaps even which theatre can make an impact on how good a performance hits the stage. I’ve seen the second touring cast, which going by the cast you mention is who you went to see, and personally although it was a good show I have enjoyed other performances better such as with Dee Roscioli and Erin Mackey both in Chicago and now in New York.

It may also simply be that you don’t get it like many… many others do, and not just those 12 yr old girls or Wizard of Oz fans as I am neither. It would be nice though if you are writing a review of a show to at least check the names for the lead characters.
