Show is fun, Dare has great pipes, kinda like someone else I know…I think its super cool he got on a show like this…hey, his radio show is number one in KC, maybe he’ll help make this show a hit…

There’s a hundred guys and probably a couple of girls in the AFTRA files that sound or can sound like JD. In the real voiceover world, where time is money, producers covet people that work quick. If you need 30 takes to get it right you ain’t workin’. Best voiceover talent in KC is Jim Birdsall.

jojo, Johnny’s schtick doesn’t play in larger markets. That’s why he’s still here and why KK is still here. I remember when Johnny was a punk ass kid hanging around the Lone Star trying to be a local metal band groupie…kinda like Tracy Pulliam aka Tracy Wylde who did get out of KC for a while but who knows where she is now. Johnny is to Max Floyd what KK is to Don Fortune. He’s making really good money, got a comfortable life but he will never hit the BIG TIME. Kelly Urich was supposed to get a BIG GIG on Sirius/XM and he’s still stuck here. If you don’t have some substance to go with your style there’s no soup for you in radio.

Hey bashers, the guy just got a national tv show..so come on…he is and has been number one in KC ratings for almost ten years…against alot more stations than Mike Murphy had to fight…he could make it elsewhere, he was offered a large payday in Houston and turned it down a few years back…cause “He Loves KC”…who’s to say if he could make it nationally on radio…but other KC exports have, Rush Limbough, Eric Mankow, and so on….I think Dare’s voice and desire are unique and he would have a good shot at it…but hey he’s happy here. So are his listenres…

I agree with Glazer, Johnny Dare does have talent. He kisses way too much arse on his morning show but it seems that comes with the territory. Say what you will about Dare and his cohorts at 98.9 The Rock but compared to the rest of the drab radio shows in this town his is the cream of the crop.
