I was tuned into KK’s show yesterday as the big story was LJ’s dismissal from the team. Instead, I was listening to him force-feed K-State down our throats and him bashing Todd Reesing’s status of late.

I was shocked at this one. As an owner, I would think he would have fiduciary responsibilities to go with the story of the day (go with the bleeding lead, it pays the bills)…instead, he chose to push his own personal KSU alumni agenda.

It’s a non-story right now because whoever comes out of the B12N is going to get smacked by Texas inside that huge monstrosity called “the new Texas Stadium”. KState is not that good. They may be soon (i.e. a few years), but right now, they just aren’t.

Let’s see if KState can get bowl eligible first, then talk about any B12N championship

I’m not a Husker fan, but I’m hoping and praying and wishing the Huskers win the North.

I graduated from Kansas, and I’m almost rooting for Nebraska to beat the Jayhawks to increase the chances of K-State not getting the North….I can’t believe I’m feeling this way.

The Cat fans….KK in particular….have been so utterly whiny and woe-is-me this year. It’s really pissing me off. SCREW ‘EM ALL…….GO BIG RED.

(While I’m at it….GO TIGERS. If Missouri and Nebraska take care of business, Snyder will be sitting home this December and January….THAT will be funny.)

You guys are all talking about KK. GH has devoted an entire column to him and his argument.

Seems like KK got exactly the response he was seeking. Did 610 even get mentioned in this OTC?

this is why sports radio here is a waste of time. the hosts here are strictly minor-league. if this were the east or west coast, chicago, or dallas, KK would be relegated to the far corners of the dial. but because everyone else is mediocre, KK looks like a big-time media personality. btw, that’s also a metaphor for K-State football.

I love the Wildcats rise and the fact they are being talked about. Sorry Jayhawkers and your history making season. I think we’ll be doing fairly well against your basketball team also. We now have the athletes to compete and contend with. Be scared

I agree with you Nick. I’d really would like to cheer for K-State, but my disgust for KK and his arrogance is too much. I’ll be rooting for the Tigers and Huskers respectively the next two weeks.

KK is a loser. I’m a KU fan and after reading KK’s comments, I’m leaning towards rooting for MU this weekend. Good for St. John to stand up and say something. This guy is god awful on the radio. How someone with such a limited knowledge of sports can host the afternoon slot on the largest sports talk in the KC metro area is beyond me. Personally I’ve moved on to Chris and Cowboy in the afternoons…they despise Keitzmen. Seems fitting that such a huge loser is a K State fan…go figure.

I’d always wondered why Kietzman had such free reign to say stupid things, make up his own news stories, etc. – I didn’t know he was an owner of 810 but now it all makes more sense…

good GOD GH! You bitter little bitch. How about an entire “column” to WHINE about KK!
Why did it take 4 days for you to even acknowledge that game? Actually, you still haven’t. Its all KK hate.

Hence the problem. KK is becoming the story versus the success that Snyder has brought K-State. I wouldn’t be thrilled if I was a K-Stater. No one is disrespecting K-State more than KK himself with his acrimonious pity party.

Something tells me the KK bashing wouldn’t be so bad if the Jayhawks and Tigers might actually “gulp” winning. Whether anyone admits it, ALL the mediocrity from the Big 12 is from KU

“It is my opinion that Bill Snyder and the Wildcats were treated fairly and with great respect by the local newspapers, TV and radio media outlets.”

This sentence single-handedly devalues anything else this page has to say, unless it is Opposite Day.

“a win Saturday … will merely be the difference in a three-win or four-win season.”

“The rehiring of Bill Snyder to replace him has put this program on the precipice of implosion. ”

“wonder if they ever again finish higher than fourth in the Big 12 North. Yeah, I think it is that bad in Manhattan and Ames. And it is not getting any better anytime soon.”

“Snyder will find the next two seasons excruciatingly painful to his ego, his school and his legacy.”

Quotes by Greg Hall this season that he has not owned up to in this column, instead focusing on KK.

Greg, you are guilty of what KK is accusing his station of

    K-State has now beaten:

    Iowa State (at Arrowhead)
    Texas A&M (in Manhattan)
    Colorado (in Manhattan)
    Kansas (in Manhattan)

    Wow!!

Sounds deserving of a banner in Snyder Family Stadium.

    ppl,

WHO didn’t K-State could be competitive against Iowa State, A&M and Colorado?! Not me.

Ron Prince beat A&M on the road last year by 14.

With Snyder back in the saddle to keep the team focused, I had ZERO doubt K-State would compete in most games against the North.

The shocker isn’t that K-State is competitive. The shocker is how mediocre KU’s offense has been the past month and how big a drop-off Missouri suffered by losing their stellar talent from a year ago.

Personally, K-State’s win over KU was the first impressive thing K-State has done. And even that win isn’t all that impressive, seeing Todd Reesing gift-wrap TD’s to the opposition for the 3 weeks previous.

A K-State win AT Nebraska would impress me. The Missouri game I almost expect K-State to win because of how lame MU is looking.

Bill Snyder has old balls. KK wants to suck them.

  22. Anonymous says:

Sure, K-State and Nebraska don’t get as much media coverage in KC, it’s a MU/KU town, period. As a K-State fan, I excepted that long ago. The Star didn’t even have a regular beat writer for awhile recently. It is a bit frustrating that b/c KU and MU aren’t as good as advertised, the North is all of a sudden too mediocre to cover. But, so what, win games and you’ll get covered.

I think a lot of K-State fans just want to hear people like ku woman’s bball announcer bukaty and ghall who have taken every shot they can (thanks for the quotes tigergold) at Snyder and the football team eat a little crow.

And I know, K-State hasn’t beaten Florida or Texas, but they are 2 games better than most thought they’d be with 2 to play…a bowl and Big XII North would be nice, but this season is already a huge success.

Oh, a big brass balls award to St. Jean and Bukaty…ha, yeah right. KK blinks and those two are back to watching games in their parent’s basements…KK probably told them to say that this AM. I’ve heard KK and Petro have ‘angry’ discussions in the past too…non-story…

KSU’s revival this year simply shows how bad a hire Ron Prince was. they over-reached for him for PC reasons. He had a weak resume and he couldn’t recruit or gameplan.

As a KU grad, I loved seeing our defense destroy NFL first-round pick Freeman. But Snyder, unfortunately, can outcoach Mangino.

The Big 12 North is shockingly bad this year. It looks like the best team is Nebraska, and their offense is pathetic. K State would finish 8th in the Big 10, right behind Purdue

If Nubb wins the North, will they be the “Kings of Crap”? I’m not saying that Cats will win the next two games, but if they happen to do it, Snydes will have pulled off yet another huge turn-around much to the chagrin of everyone else in the conference. And, you must remember that K-State “owns” Texas.

    GEG,

Yeah, Reesing’s turnovers and KU’s struggles have been VERY frustrating to watch. What I thought was a legitimate run at a North title is all but gone. Very frustrating. Such is the life of a fan sometimes….sometimes your favorite team is shitty and there ain’t nothing you can do it about it. It’s hard to stomach, depressing and makes the football weekends very dreary.

WAIT….what the hell I’m rambling on about?! You’re a K-Stater….you’ve felt that for years now. Sorry….silly me.

This is like taking candy from a baby! Boo Hoo! Talk about crying and whining, KU and MU fans are the biggest whiners around. When K-State SPEAKS UP its called whining. When KU or MU speaks up its called sports talk. WTF!!! You people really need to get over yourselves. The Big 12 in general is weak, and the north is not good, and this was KU year to win the north. What a JOKE! KK has bragged about KU and MU so much these last 3 years has made me nausea. This is why I love Bill Snyder, because he drives you people NUTS and you can’t hand it. Oh, and by the way, KK can rip his OWN station because he is the BOSS BEEEEOOOTTTTCCCCCHHHHH. GO STATE!!! EMAW!

Ha! Not a huge Big 12 fan but a few things are very evident. KK is a douche. I don’t care how old he is Bill Snyder is the real fricken deal and probably the best coach in the North. KSU can lose their last 2 games and still far exceed any preseason expectations while most other north schools did the opposite. The mear fact so many people are commenting and upset says it all. K-State is headed in a positive direction and it has other schools pissing down their legs. And no, the Big 10 aint worth a damn this year either..

Nice job by Snyder this year. He’s managed to win a couple more games than people thought he would. Let’s quit making it out to be some amazing feat though, seriously. The Big 12 North is so bad this year that no team’s success can be accurately measured. It’s like saying your kid is the fastest retard in the Special Olympics 100 yard dash.

But we do know Mangino has cheated. The NCAA didn’t put KU on probation for following the rules. So why don’t you and Bukaty get that?

Mangino has character issues. It shows in how his program ended up on probation. It showed in how information on who was involved in the cheating from the KU staff was released so that it appeared to the media that a key player in the cheating was a former KSU player (when it was sorted out he wasn’t involved at all, but it was an attempt to throw a kid under the bus and play to the fanbase and Snyder haters that exist in the region and KU and Mangino did nothing to try and counter the media speculation and reports in an effort to clear Mitch Running’s name). It is evidenced on how he has dealt with the problems for KU this season. It is obvious the coaching staff chucked it in vs. TT. It is obvious that Mangino and staff panicked vs. KSU. Mangino not only gave up on his players (what kind of example does that set?), but he’s even begun to make statements that sloughs the blame off on the others.

At some point even the likes of Greg Hall and Bukaty will figure out what is going on. In the mean time they will wallow in ignorance and conveniently forget their own remarks, comments, columns and the evidence that lies before them.

It’s sad that KC media attacks their own…especially when their own are making a point about something that is tangible, that does exist. The fact that KState has beaten teams that were expected to be better than they are does not damper the results that Snyder has bore. The fact that you try to refute otherwise uncovers your bias and leaves ample room for any doubter(KStater or Otherwise) to question your motives and your bias, Greg Hall. But thanks for writing an article that makes yourself look like a huge homer.

KK gets ripped all of the time but his show is great. He is from here and he bleeds Big 12, Royals, and Chiefs. His monologues EVERY day are pertinent and on target. He finds angles that people want to hear. And.. he is still pretty damned young. Get used to it.

GH: And what does that title get you this season, king of crap? Here is a reality check for all Nebraska and K-State football fans who are harboring visions of Big 12 titles in their noggins. Both teams are very mediocre and could very well both lose this weekend. More on the Big 12 North to come this week

KU and Mu are 2-8 in Big 12 play and you dimish the teams KSU has beat…too funny. MU just lost at home to Baylor. KU beat ISU, at home, a team you characterize as the worst in the nation.

KSU is the only team in the Big 12 not to be on ABC/ESPN this year, explain that one. Their first and only appearance will be vs NU..when they play for the North title.

Don’t blame KSU for the North’s problems…their job is to win games, and to tihs point they have.

KK is right, once KSU beats someone, then they must not be any good, or the game was flawed. Even in 1998 and 2003…KSU wasn’t any good…yet they were ranked #1 and won the Big 12 over the “best team in the history of College Football”

I lived on the East Coast in ’07 and ’08. East coast radio stations barely give college football a whiff of coverage. It’s all NFL, all the time.
What the NFL team’s quarterback had for lunch got more coverage than the local teams…and the school with the largest alumni base in that city was in the Top 25 the entire year.

jojo – The score may be 31 to 17 at half…but the final score will be 31 – 48 given the Tigers tend to forget to play in the second half.

Do any of you K-Staters know how attendance has been this year at football games? Are they selling out the stadium?

Keep your chin up Wildcat fans. This is for you:

When the day is long and the night, the night is yours alone,
When you’re sure you’ve had enough of this life, well hang on
Don’t let yourself go, ’cause everybody cries and everybody hurts sometimes

Sometimes everything is wrong. Now it’s time to sing along
When your day is night alone, (hold on, hold on)
If you feel like letting go, (hold on)
When you think you’ve had too much of this life, well hang on

‘Cause everybody hurts. Take comfort in your friends
Everybody hurts. Don’t throw your hand. Oh, no. Don’t throw your hand
If you feel like you’re alone, no, no, no, you are not alone

If you’re on your own in this life, the days and nights are long,
When you think you’ve had too much of this life to hang on

    Well, everybody hurts sometimes,
Everybody cries. And everybody hurts sometimes
And everybody hurts sometimes. So, hold on, hold on
Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on
Everybody hurts. You are not alone
