I’ve never seen The Vagina Monologues all the way through because, like most things concerning vaginas, it’s probably really interesting for about two and a half minutes and then not so much.
Still, dramatic women on stage chatting, shouting, praising and describing their vaginas simply proves that there’s nothing in this world that can’t be turned into something boring. Therefore, UMKC is actually a prefect place for an upcoming Vagina Monologues production.
Auditions for the UMKC’s production of the Vagina Monologues are sceduled for the following dates;
Friday, November 13 from 3-7pm
Saturday,November 14 from 1-3pm
The auditions will take place at UMKC’s Women’s Center. 5100 Rockhill Road (105 Haag Hall) So, at the very least there’s one place that will be openly discussing vaginas as the holiday season approaches other than sports bars and the Internets.
The audition is open to both pro-actors and amateurs and walk-ins to the vagina fest are welcomed. Which should make people giggle, and is probably more entertaining than any show purporting to entertain the public by delving into sordid stories of the female anatomy.
