Tony: A Collection of This Week’s Trends

Very much like a Victoria’s Secret photo shoot featuring a collection of high-end eye candy – News stories in the local media spoke to a great many trends Kansas City trends affecting our downward spiral during The Great Recession.

At this point all we can do is enjoy the ride because this town is still far away from an election despite the fact that one in four people in Kansas City think they can be Mayor.

Here’s the weekly trend watch. Check it:

1. The Rich Keep Eating While The Rest Of Kansas City Struggles – Hey folks, Restaurant Week is Coming Up!!! Sure, it will benefit Harvesters but it’s mostly about chowing down and ignoring all of the illegal immigrants slaving away in the kitchen.

2. We just keep on killing each other in Kansas City. There was a brief respite in local murders but, tragically, it seems we’re back on track. Even worse, bullets aren’t the only way to bite it as KCPD Chief Corwin keeps trying to remind us that cars are killing more people in Kansas City as well given that we’ve seen a 15% increase in vehicle fatalities year to date with 60 people dead at latest count. This is important info because this town has a nasty and tacitly racist habit of thinking that life is cheap East of Troost.

3. Kansas City will never stop believing politico double talk. Democrat Robin Carnahan is flirting with the LGBT vote with a recent statement “considering” civil unions. The statement doesn’t mean anything at all but it still makes “news” – Whatever that means.

    The regular flu kills 40,000 people a year and the swine flu is not even close to that. The swine flu is media hype and not to be too concerned about. Don’t lose any sleep over it.

    P.S. Tony your boy Glazer made USAToday this weekend his movie/dvd, was reviewed nicely in the movie section of the nation paper…in fact it got 3 and one half stars out of our, Champions Forever The Definitive Editon Lost Interviews/Ali…nice photo too…impressive
