I think KK’s point was that if the North winner has a 5-3 record, K-State on paper has the most helpful schedule

KU wins the north. Even though I’d love to see my beloved Cats take, it just doesn’t seem to be in the cards.

Reesing is a winner, and the entire team shares the mentality. No. Doubt. About it.

KK’s popularity is a testament to the lack of knowledge and sophistication of his audience. He fancies himself as a Bob Costas sort of guy. I’m sure in his mind the phone call from ESPN or HBO is only a day away. The guy on the national scene that he reminds me of is White House Spokesman, Robert Gibbs. They are twin brothers from separate mothers.

I’m with you 100% Ptolemy…I’m a Cats fan as well and am happy with the season so far, but don’t think KSU will win the North.

And, like I’ve said before on this site, where are all the people who think the Cats are so good and gonna win the the north and are ‘back, etc. All year the Wrights, St. Jeans and Bukatys of the world proclaim that all the KSU fans are in for huge heartbreak this year…I don’t know a single KSU fan that thought anything more than 6-6 was even a possibility. And is 6-6 likely? No. But possible? Yes.

I was at a speaking event KK spoke at this week and all he said was KSU will win the North if they win three games at home against non-ranked opponents since that would put them at 5-3. CU isn’t ranked, KU won’t be ranked unless they go 2-0 the next two weeks which isn’t happening and MU won’t be ranked and will likely be 1-3 in the conf play. Again, is KSU finishing 5-3 likely? Not at all. 3-5 is more likely b/c KSU doesn’t have the talent. But, after watching KU and MU play 5-3 isn’t impossible.

Speaking of KU and MU, not sure where all the hype for them is coming from? KU has been shaky the last three games they played, two at home. DUKE moved it all over them. Really, they are a 3 man team. All it takes is Reesing to be off for a 1/2 and they are mediocre at best (see last Saturday). MU crushed a BAD Illinois team and has done little else all year.

“Colorado has a slight chance to contend with their win over a quality Kansas team.”

KU is not good. I have seen every single minute of their games. Beyond Reesing, Meier, and Briscoe there is nothing.

GH, negroplease! Olathe malls? You’ve GOT to broaden your horizons. We Cat fans are enjoying this season more than any other because we’ve got nothing to lose. We had no expectations coming into the season, have exceeded already what anybody would have optimistically expected, and are completely enjoying the collapse of the Nubber/Squawk/Tigger faithful after months of listening to them rip back muscles blowing themselves every day.

    This IS fun.

Move the ball, move the ball kick ’em in the mouth. Whoever wins the North still gets trampled by THE SOUTH.

The Wildcats just don’t matchup well against the spread offense. It is our kryptonite

    Ptolemy,

You say, “We had no expectations coming into the season, have exceeded already what anybody would have optimistically expected…”

    What exactly was exceeded?!!

K-State’s record is WORSE right now than I would have predicted before the season:

The home Massachusetts was expected, and K-State barely did that.

They lost to Lousiana Lafayette, which I would NOT have predicted. Nebraska beat the same team 55-0.

K-State lost to UCLA as expected.

As expected, K-State throttled an over-matched Tennessee Tech team.

K-State beat Iowa State last year, so I would have predicted a KSU win at nearby Arrowhead.

K-State got beat soundly by Texas Tech…no surprise there.

And predicatably, K-State beat Texas A&M at home…the same team who lost to K-State last year by 14 AT College Station. Yeah, it was a very dominating and impressive win, but games can look that way when a team commits 5 turnovers.

If K-State can get 2 more wins against their tough finishing opponents, THEN they’ll have exceeded expectations.

KK has become Don Fortune. I too liked Maas and Nick Wright. Mostly cuz it took more than 1/2 the mic from Nick. The 610 crew has tried to take the ol 1510 approach and claim to be the fresh new face against the old regime. (980 back in the day) The problem is they pretty much alienate everyone and have zero credibility.

Sorry about your bad experience in beautiful Ooooooolathe. There are plenty of ‘skers here.

    Go Cats.
