How many businesses have to go broke in a single spot for it to cement its rep as a burial ground? In the case of the former Fritz Co. Grill at 13700 Metcalf along what passes for south Overland Park’s Gold Coast, it’s either two or three. But hey, who’s counting? Whatever the number, it’s logged 100 percent failure rate.

Until now…

Ollie Gates even looked at the space several years back but the rent was way too high. The mediocre Italian chain restaurant was in and out so fast I can’t even recall which one it was. Emphasis on was.

But now comes a business so hip-sounding it’s a little hard conjuring a vision of it in the sleepy suburbs.
