If they mail it in on Sundays, what channel is 610 now? The baseball channel? The weekday channel?

Off topic a tad, but was “the football channel” the worst branding ever, considering this town does has such a passion for the Royals and college basketball?

Kevin Kietzman wrong with his made-up sources? Say it isn’t so. The people fooled were the ones who still believe that tired act…

The ultimate bitch-slap insult to the Chiefs was the choice by the Ravens to cover the spread and go for the TD instead of the more logical and safe move to go for 3. Vince McMahon could’t have scripted a better ending. Despite his big numbers Joe Flacco has more in common with Brodie Croyle than with Johnny Unitas.

The question I have is this. Pioli is supposed to be a genius. Haley is supposed to be a
    genius.
So how can this team have the best players available to go on the field?
Haley and Pioli had months to find a punt returner. It’s almost like they drew numbers
with players to see who got the job. Leggett
can’t handle punts. Are there no decent punt
returners who can do the job anywhere in the
    nation?
They brought in toomer and lelie and proclaimed
how good they were. Are the recievers we kept
better than these guys? I just can’t see how.
After all this time I wonder if the team they
now have with all it’s weaknesses how these
guys are the best players pioli and haley could
    find. It just seems odd.
The chiefs played their hearts out. Either last years team was worse than they played or haley and pioli can’t judge talent.
Receivers: probably the least talented receiving
corp in the pros. Under herm, bradley didn’t
do much. Does haley think he can make this guy
another “fitzgerald”? And are they telling us
that with all the other recievers they had
that this is the best group they could put together?
Offensive line: Dozens of o lineman were available to pick up. Pioli is a master at
trades and draft manipulation. How come they
    couldn’t get a better o line.
The chiefs (as much as I love them) fell into the same trap that glass and the royals fell
    into.
they believed that if a man was in the second
position (not the top gm) for a team that osmosis would make him as effective as the top
guy. Moore would be as good as Shuerholz.
We;ve learned that’s not the case. Pioli would
be as good as the patriot gm. I hope we learn
that he can be as good atputting ateam together
    as the pats.
It was an exciting game. The chiefs played their
hearts out. The defense made some good plays.
We can only imagine and hope the offense gets
better when cassell returns. Hopefully lj can
get going and we get back flowers.
Hope springs eternal in KC. Hope is all we have.

KK wasn’t the only guy in the media guessing wrong this weekend. Almost everyone (including
hall) was wrong on games. It’s like the media
in this town stretches to come up with some kind
    of scoop.
Problem with the media is with the cutbacks and
the layoffs there’s no real competition between
media to get the “big” story. WHB is lined up
with the tv stations (harry and kctv5. 610
is lined up with other media. Both have friends
at metro sports (which I consider one of the weakest sports reporting groups) and all the
sports people are buddy buddy. So the fire and
desire to hunt down and find that big story and
be the first to report it is gone. And since
tv is out of the sports reporting and with
smaller staffs they don’t have the manpower to
do really hard hitting news stories.
With lenny/harry/and fox 4 its rip and read in
the 3 minutes they get on the evening news.
We’re seeing a massive shift going on.
Print is dead. Radio is kiling itself by downgrading content and will find itself being
a “steaming” media. TV is finding programming
hard to put in as it becomes a segmented media. More and more we will see the internet become the sports media.
I’ve given up on WHB and 610. Just too much
crap. The new meters for radio ratings shold
hurt both those stations. The internet is where
everything is going. It will kill radio/and
    eventually tv.

A good rule of thumb is that if KK says he has it locked down from his “inside” sources, believe the opposite. The more sure KK is of something, the more wrong he is likely to be.

Gannon didn’t bother me, Ian Eagle did. I thought he was such a homer yelling and screaming when Baltimore did good things….and we have this guy to look forward to a lot this year, we’re not going to see Jim Nantz and Phil Simms this year

Wow, KK thought Cassel would play and he didn’t? Well not everyone can read from a websie and say it’s their scoop.

    810 scoops 610 once again!

I expect the Chiefs to start bringing in new players this week because now they only have to pay them on a game by game basis. Right now the Chiefs are doing things on the cheap and we have exactly the talent level that equals the amount of money being paid to these players. We are so far under the cap we can’t even see the cap.

Whatever the reason, the last two years the Chiefs have put a product on the field that is only capable of winning games when the other team makes mistakes. The old saying ” You get what you pay for.” is what we have here and that means we don’t have much.

Clark Hunt seems to be following the “winning strategy” of the owner across the parking lot!

What did this game show us…Give alot of credit to the Todd Haley…come on now, the guy has not one big time player out there and with that mess of a squad, was in it til four minutes to go..he is a very good coach, guys he knows his team stinks, he knows he has no talent, he played it right, didn’t get embarassed, hey that fourth down throw that almost scored a td at half was cool, the guys is going to be a fine nfl coach…again KC, this is NOT the team we will have in two years, maybe four or five of these guys..you pick, other than your kickers and Matt, nobody has really made THE team, not DJ, not LJ, nobody, not Bowe, nobody and I mean nobody had a very good game for the Chiefs, Brodie had a moment than at the end was Brodie, look at the numbers our defense is an F, our running game is an F, our passing a C minus at best, yikes we are on paper the worst…but it will happen in two seasons…it will, Clark and the g.m. and Todd will buy the players, it will happen, but this year sorry, its just a tryout for about six guys to see if they will be with us in two years, my guess is it will be four of them….so calm down, its gonna be a long preseason, hey we might beat the Raiders…

Would have been a different game if Brandon Flowers was out there.

There were a couple of series in the second half where I thought Haley failed his offense by continuing to call running plays when the line and LJ were clearly not getting it done. Haley finally decided to go through the air but if he’d made that decision earlier we might have scored another TD.

Still encouraging too see the team hanging in there. Herm’s team would have quit or broken down mentally early in the 4th quarter.

    Professional athletes? ….. yeah, right.
What a concept, what a joke.

These goofs are millionaire losers. It is all fine and dandy if they can bring respect to the city whose name they use, but the two teams we have are embarrassments, and the blame falls squareley on the owner’s shoulders.

Glass and Hunt are failing our city. period

This game showed me nothing. I know a lot of people are happy that KC was in it. But, they were not in it because they played well. They were in it because the Ravens made a bunch of mental mistakes and looked like they mailed it in sometimes.

When they wanted to the Ravens ran up and down on KC and beat them up. KC is a bad team, and Haley saying every 4 letter word in the book isn’t going to prevent him from a 3 win season.

That’s why they play the game. I agree Dexter, they played better than I expected but to John’s point the Ravens stunk it up. Joe Hacko needs to work on that muscle between his ears before Ray Lewis pops his head like a pimple on prom night. I really expected the O Line to be worse than they were. Will be interesting to see what happens next week. The Raiders have a short week but they also have film to look at today and the Chiefs won’t get Raiders film until Wednesday. I’m still not convinced that Matt Cassel is the guy. He’s coming from Formula One down to Demolition Derby. I don’t think he can hang, but we’ll see. They set a baseline on Sunday. If they show improvement next week then I’m still on the bandwagon. How long ’til we see “Snap The Fucking Ball” T-shirts on the street?

Dimebag, that’s my point. K.C. didn’t play well, the Ravens just mailed it in. Most of the game you can tell that. The Ravens knew they were 1,000 times better then KC. When they wanted to the Ravens O walked all over KC’s D. When they wanted to the Ravens D beat up KC.

Don’t let the score fool you. The Ravens never had this game in doubt.

  18. Anonymous says:

Never had the game in doubt? What game were you watching? It was 24-24 with 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter.

The fact is, the Ravens aren’t as good as you all think they are. To the same point – the Chiefs aren’t as bad as you think they are. As the season moves forward, you’ll see Baltimore is an 8-8 team that will continue to stub its toe while KC shows marked improvement down the stretch.

You put Brandon Flowers in that game yesterday in place of Leggett and it’s a completely different ballgame. The jury is still out on how much better the offense would have been with Cassel under center.

    Chiefs 17
    Raiders 13

a better question might be “who is matt cassell?”

oh thats right, he is the 60 million dollar glass leg douchebagloser who hit the jackpot on a contract when his in cahoots buddy peeonme-Ego-li from NE split it with him, what a joke. There was NO REASON to offer him that money this soon, UNLESS, they both thought they might not be here next year, and I hope they are not, and the NFL agrees to cancel this Madoff type BS con…as in CONtract.

LOL…Greg- Coach Haley’s Winter Parka was more than a little weird. Don’t know why that stuff matters but it does. I hope he doesn’t blow a gasket trying to OC and HC at the same time.

You wouldn’t be seeing Mike Singletary wearing a winter parka…now would you. Just saying.
