Great article! While KC does has some fashion events, even I, as a KC local, feel like Kansas City “fashion” (if you can call it that), falls short. While I applaud the city’s enthusiasm, it is hardly reflective of capital-f Fashion. Thank you for keeping me in the loop as to what the rest of the industry is up to. I appreciate your insight. It’s Donna Karan.The afterbirth from fashion week in NYC doesn’t even drizzle down on us. They have nicer clothes and we have better bar-b-que. That’s how life goes. And for the record all you undersexed women from the OP I’m not impressed with your “Ourmoney” wardrobe. For the women in KCK and Independence that’s a riff on Armani.
Fashion week in NY is a joke. The average man or woman can’t wear or afford this shit. Most of the stuff is now mass produced in China,(read the book Gomorrah by Robert Saviano for the inside on that) and the quality is shit. If you are really into fashion NY, Milan and Paris are as gaudy and gauche as Las Vegas. Find a good tailor or seamstress and create your own style. Five grand can get you a nice starter wardrobe instead of one crappy dress or suit.
