This little orgy/lovefest you have with 610 around here is completely out of hand and OH so obvious.

  2. Anonymous says:

I could care less who reports something first. This to me is a media game that matters very little. I just want to know that he signed and that he is coming to camp. In this day of instant news no one can hold onto a story that long anyway. I do agree with Christina though that you are becoming kind of a 610 homer.

  3. Anonymous says:

As Greg intimated early in his column, first is immaterial in the internet-driven world.

I would listen to 610 if there was any entertainment value to be experienced. Their on-air hosts are amatuerish and unappealing. They sound like a student-run university radio station.

Those are the plain facts of the situation.

Congrats Nick Wright on 2 big victories. There will always be naysayertrolllosers who will talk BS no matter how great you do, but I for one give a man credit when it is due.

Keep this up, and you are destined for greatness. Even in the electronic age breaking a story is important. Get the scoop. If you keep working hard, your reputation will grow. I fyou conitue to deliver accuate stories first, people will watch and read you.

The harder you work, the luckier you get.

Keep up the great work, you have far to go, read you there:)

Another case of KK and company spending too much time on their golf games and too little time doing their jobs.
    Good for 610–bad for 810…

  6. Anonymous says:

Congrats to Wright. But it’s yesterday news, so don’t spend too much time thinking about how great you are. Not saying you are, I’m saying you shouldn’t.

And yes, scoops matter a whole lot more to the media members themselves than the consumers. But if 610 becomes the regulars to get it first and get it right, listeners will slowly start moving the dial toward them.

That’s why, for the latest on Jack Harry’s golf game, auto racing and the hot new BBQ recipes, we flock to 810 instinctively.

And, while it makes for great radio, Cowboy’s rant toward Keitzman shows a severe inferiority complex. Next time, stop giving a crap about your competition and make sure they’re giving a crap about you.

How about Carl Peterson’s speech at the HOF game
    for derrick.
One of the best speeches I’ve heard given there
    in many many years.
He hit it on the nail when he said..”derrick was
not a perfect man…but who is?” (paraphrased).
Carl told the real story about derrick and the
work he did in this city. He told of the awards
derrick received for his work which to those of
us who knew him was beyond great.
In my opinion…Carl wanted to let people in this
city know that his heart was still here. Despite
the fact that he did produce some lean years
for the cheifs as gm he did energize this entire
city for many many years. He helped bring an
enthusiasm back to this city…a pride back to this city that we may never see again.
Congrats Carl…even though you left at the
worst time in the cheifs history…thanks for
the many years of great football.
IN my opinion…Carl showed us something that he never showed us while running the cheifs…humility and compassion.

When Nick Wright gets caught getting a blowjob in a car in Mission Hills from someone that is not his girlfriend or wife THEN we will know he has arrived.

Carl Peterson said DT was like a son to him. So not only is he a failure as Pres/GM but also as a surrogate father. Carl HAD to know what DT was up to; strip clubs, knocking up chicks, not being a responsible baby daddy, yet he did NOTHING to intervene. The saddest news last week is that one of DT’s kids couldn’t qualify academically to get into MU so he’s going to JUCO. In this day and age there are some really stupid kids getting into college to play D1 ball. With all the HELP a college can muster and this kid can’t get in? That tells me more about DT as a MAN then any on field stat. The real heroes in this world don’t play sports or act in movies or sing songs. They love their wives or husbands and are devoted to their children and bust their asses so their kids can have a better life. You know who you are. Thanks for being responsible adults and for giving a shit about someone other than yourself. EAT SHIT Carl Peterson you sad pathetic waste of DNA.

    the pope
smartman..you are a loser and know nothing
    about life.
If you have kids you know that at 25-30 years
of age you really can’t control them.
obviously you don’t or you would know this.
Stop being so negative. Plenty of kids don
t get into college and you just insulted the
100,000 kids in juco in this city…go f yourself.

  11. Anonymous says:

smartman you’re not so smart. Since when do
you get to judge a man’s personal life.
Oh..I know..you are perfect and your kids are
    perfect. No problems…perfect academic
history…exactly what do you do for a living?
Because whatever you do it must not take
    too much intelligence.
You can discuss a man’s professional life if
they are in public life. But trying to tie
carl peterson into derrick thomas’s private
    life is totally b.s.
Noone could control derrick…but there were
2 sides to him. The crazy wild side and the
one with a huge heart for those less
Are you a perfect man? I know you’re not.
Noone is. So stop trying the holier than thou
    bullshit and get real.
    You are full of shit.

    Dexter Morgan
That kid on 610 who calls himself Cowboy is one the worst sports radio hosts I’ve ever heard in the country. I travel frequently on business and get a chance to tune in to sports shows in several cities and it not only amazes me how bad he is, but that he was given the drive time slot every day. His co-host just lets him dominate the show, not that I’m able to withstand listening for more than a couple of minutes at a time. It’s like two stupid college frat boys babbling in front of a microphone. I hear better sports takes in airport bars than I do on 610 between 2-6pm…

  13. Anonymous says:

Never seen a pic of Wright before. Good lord, does he ever a face for radio. Too bad he doesn’t have a voice for radio.

  14. Anonymous says:

Not reading anybody’s mind or intent but pope and jojo I think you’re off base a little. I don’t think smartman is insulting kids that choose junior college. Lots of good reasons to go that route. Not every kid has a father who plays/played in the NFL like DT’s kid(s). That alone should give you a HUGE advantage in life. If you got game, between the coach, AD, and Academic Counselors they figure out a way to get you declared academically elegible and get you enrolled. DT did great work in the community helping and encouraging kids to learn. Did he do that with his own? Did he ever read a book to them? Use flash cards? Ever be a REAL FATHER?

Carl and DT always talked about the special “father and son” relationship they had. Whether I was 5, 15, 25 or 45 my dad, and mom never stopped being parents and they had no problem telling me what they thought about how I was leading my life, spending my money or raising my kids. You NEVER stop being a parent. You never stop teaching. Like a lot of responsible parents I’ve helped my kids deal with addiction, debt and abusive relationships. As long as you keep teaching and preaching sooner or later they will learn and listen. If Carl really loved DT and if DT really respected him, the way a child SHOULD respect a parent he could have cooled DT’s heels when he and his posse were making it rain at Diamond Joe’s. Too bad Carl didn’t want to take responsibility for DT’s life off the field the way he took credit for his life on it.

He was a helluva player but as that motivational poster says…after you’re gone, the money, the awards and accolades don’t mean as much as whether or not you made a difference in the life of a child.

Smartman is right. The real heroes are the men and women, single and married, that put the safety, welfare and education of their kids above all else, regardless of the cost or sacrifice.

  15. Anonymous says:

    Uncle Dick
You’re right smartman. Carl’s phoney baloney bullshit about “the son he never had” is just another self serving attempt to be something he is not, one a father, and two a decent guy.

A real man dosen’t father 8 or 9 kids with as many women. A real dad is someone who is always there, not a guy who buys you stuff and takes you to practice once in a while. Perfect? Of course, no body is but being responsible is part of the duties of being a father, not being a ho chaser and drunk. The fact that our society would honor a bastard kid fathering athlete by naming a grade school after him is beyond belief. Control? After you leave home, you are supposed control yourself, it’s called being a grown up. If you did your job as a father, you don’t have to try and control them, you should have given them the tools to qualify for college and prepare them for life and all of its challenges.

Noone is perfect? Who is this Noone fellow you keep referring to, jojo? Peter Noone, lead singer of Herman’s Hermits? I’ll admit I was a big fan, but he’s not perfect either.

  16. Anonymous says:

Dimebag…you have helped your kids deal with addiction, debt, and abusive relationships?
Good god man, do you live in the woods?
What is it that drove these kids to those problems? You sound like a dimebag parent to me.

    craig glazer
Nick gets too much crap on this blog..he has an interesting voice, young guy who works his butt off trying to make a difference, its tough with two pro teams that have been such no shows the last many years….so give the guy some credit for trying to make it all a little more fun…

I think he does a nice job and will be a sports force in years to come…JoJo you got it right Carl made a nice speech, I, as many know, don’t get along with him, who does, but again give credit where credit is due…oddly it was both his and Derricks swan song…but in a very nice way

Dimebag: Welcome to the First Church of Personal Responsibility. While DT and his boys were tearin’ it up at DJ’s Carl had his schnozz planted in a pinot noir at The Capital Grill. He was partial to the strong leathery notes. Boys will be boyz. Carl and Marty both failed to provide any moral leadership to the hoodlums they recruited. (See the recent Dale Carter post and Craig Glazers comments). You do have to be THUG LIFE NASTY to succeed on the field in the NFL. You also have to have the discipline to turn that off when you’re not playing. As long as butts were in seats and the W’s were greater than the L’s nobody within the Chiefs organization gave a shit about those guys. There’s some karma in play for why they never won a championship despite all the talent.

Jazzbo: You must be really blessed by the Lord, or you don’t have kids. I’ve got friends and clients that run the range from dirt poor to fuck you money rich. They all say the same thing…you got kids you got shit, OR you’re gonna have shit. Especially this day and age. That’s life. One of my friends has twin boys, one is in B-School at Wharton and they other is in jail, despite high dollar legal representation. Same house, same rules, different results. Explain that to me. If you got some rules for raising perfect kids I suggest you get a ghost-writer and publisher ’cause you’re gonna be a billionaire, many times over, even after President Obama taxes your ass.

  19. Anonymous says:

Oh yeah, about Nick Wright. When the final chapter is written this kid is gonna have more money and pussy than all of us…and that’s alot since Glazer is included in this bunch. He’s got SKILLS and he will get better. Plus he’s got that Brooklyn Boy look that Midwest chicks love. As long as he doesn’t get caught up in his own press like KK or Petro he’s gonna do just fine.

all you perfect people and parents who never
had a child stfu because you are lying.
2 adults saying they were like “father and son”
is no where near the bond of a real child.
Get real you people. You have no clue.
So now you blame derricks behavior on his
boss…the guy who negotiated with him on his
contract…the guy who “owned” him. come on…
    was derrick thomas perfect..NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
    Was Carl Peterson perfect….NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
and i really don’t think any of you people knew
the man on a personal level. Forget business…
businessis business. Did any of you kn ow this
man personally..sit down and meet with him…
talk about life. Hell no. Just another way for
you losers who have never done anything in your
life to strike another “successful” man.
t never fails. All you 9-5 lamebrains who never
built anything in your life..never accomplished
any thing in your life…who live life on the
safe easy road…who never risked anythging to
do something in life…you have found another
    target. Hall…smartman…etc…why do you
always take it out on successful people.
Say what you will about peterson…but he risked
    a lot…made a lot…was successful for many
years while the rest of you wait for social
security and medicare. And now since the age
of personal responsibility is out of style you
blame peterson for derricks behavior? Get
off it losers…you have nothing..do nothing..
accomplish nothing and when someone does something that is successful you try to bash
    the guy to no end.

If anyone here ever said a positive thing about anyone, then insults might have meaning. As it is, it reads like most of you are weary of your face in the mirror, that you must lash out at everyone else in an effort to make yourself feel better.

The only thing this nit picking BS will do, is make the owners of this blog require registration before typing, might everyone try to be thoughtful and considerate?

Maybe pretend the person you are talking about is in front of you, and might punch you so hard that you will learn some manners. Dont start bad habits, cuz someday you will pay the price of mouthing to the wrong person.

congrats to Nick Wright for the scoop, we customers are watching, and we appreciate the effort it takes.

    perfectly said monkey.
Copngrats to nick…we all need a break sometime
    in life. He’s geting it.
If you have been a better person. If you have
done more for this city than peteerson. If you
have been in the ring fighting for something
you believe in and not hiding on this readerless
site…if you have given your all in what you
do…then you can critisize carl…proffesionally…not personally.
All you losers need to get a life…its apparent
    you have none…
listen to the monkey above…he’s right.
