Bring home the Senor British Tom, we’re pulling for you! And wasn’t JoJo the one who kept saying last week the Royals were going to turn it around in the second half? Good call JoJo!!!

I liked out Keitzman came on at 2pm today, saying that Watson wasn’t going to be doing any interviews this week because he was still upset about the tournament. KK has been trying to get Watson on since yesterday, and he has to be PISSED that Rome got him.

I think it’s a little odd that Watson didn’t do a local show first. He went on ROme, which is fine, but no one in KC listens to Rome anymore. Petro, even though he’s a hack, destroys Rome in the ratings here. It was great Rome got the interview, it’s great that it was on 610. But, no one heard it when it aired live.

    Kind of sad.

Actually Hipster, over 200 radio stations NATIONWIDE heard Rome’s interview with Tommy….and lots of people in KC still listen to Rome.

Paul, your wrong, at least according to the ratings. Petro beats him 3 to 1 here. I don’t care that someone in New York or Seattle heard Watson live.

WATSON ISN’T FROM NEW YORK OR SEATTLE. HE’S FROM K.C.

And in K.C. according to ratings most people heard Petro, not Watson on Rome.

It’s sad. His first major radio interview wasen’t local. He goes on Rome, that’s no one hears in this town anymore.

I thought his first interview would be with Twibell since he’s the major golf guy around.

I guess that’s what the internet is for. Too bad 610 didn’t get the ratins push this interview could of got.

    1. Jimmy D. Thanks for the shoutout. Yes I did
say the Royals would eventually get hot. Unfortunately it will probably be in late August
or September like last year when they went
18-8. But it doesn’t matter. Its over. And
guillen can hit 300 and jacobs can reach
40 homeruns…its over so it doesnt matter
because as long as moore and dildoman are
    running the show its bad.
    2. Why is everyone sulking about watson losing.
    I haven’t watched a tournament entire round
til last sunday morning. I could care less
about golf (although I did see tiger in vegas).
Watson was magnificent and yes there are no
accolades to him for finishing second but to
us here in kc there isno greater athlete or
gentleman than tom. He’s been gracious in losing
and he will always be a winner to us.
    3. Rome has millions of listeners…over
    3million…whb…aqh guessing 30,000. Someone
    find out.
    4. Why was Frank Boal crying on kietzmans show?
He said that he and a friend were talking about
how watsons round of golf on sunday helped them
forget about the worlds problems. I really
didnt understand the wholemeaning but I think
that Frank was forced out of his job at fox
    4…something he loved doing…probably because
of his being over 50. Thecompany that owns
fox 4 gave buyouts to everyone over a certain
age. I didn’t understand the correlation between
watson playing a good round of golf and the
    worlds problems.
    5. I still love going to the K for baseball.
win or lose…they are “our team” and like
the saying goes “we don’t always like them…
    but we always love ’em!”
    6. Can’t wait for college footballand the
    chiefs…hopefully wons’t be as disappointing
and frutstrating as this summer has been.

Watson was considered an “ass” in KC because he basically he is one. A legendary athlete to be sure, and respected for just the qualities of professionalism and accountability he’s demonstrated in the aftermath of the Open — and throughout his career. But Watson isn’t a “people person;” he can be incredibly arrogant and condescending, even without provocation.

Still, it would have been a tremendous story had Watson won the Open and a fitting capstone on the career of one of golf’s all-time greats.

was that his second wife they showed on tv.
Did watson get a divorce from his first wife?
Maybe he got caught getting a hummer in
    mission hills like kietzman.

It’s funny Monday during my drive home on 810 they broke down Tom Watson and the British Open, the disapointing 18th hole, everything.

On 610, they were talking about Mike Vick getting back into the NFL.

My guess is that 810 killed 610 in the drive time hours on Monday….

I guess a KU basketball players dad can’t be a jerk every week heh Chris and Cowboy?

Using an old ratings report to determine how many people listened to Rome just the other day is silly. Its like trying to figure out the traffic on the way into work today based on what it was like three months ago. Just to many variable’s like weather etc. The same applies to radio ratings. People may have known Watson was going to be on 610 and they spiked the ratings. You just can’t say until you get the results.

Can we please stop all the KK hummer talk…..talk about OLD NEWS!!! Move on. We’ve heard it.

The sports world like the real world moves fast. New day new story. Big Ben, NBA trades, Vick, you can’t expect all of sports radio is going to continue to repeat the same story. Especially one that had a disappointing ending.

What’s sad is that none of the local media dispatched anyone across the pond for the final round on Sunday.

I concur smartman but in this economy that is to much $$$$. Also those sort of arrangements need to be made in advance and obviously no expected Tom would be playing well. I was amazed at the cutbacks in Superbowl coverage.

I’m sure Tom’s first wife thinks he’s a swell guy.
