McTavish: Sonic Youth Slays Uptown Crowd

The savagely symphonic assault of Sonic Youth swaddled spellbound fans with notably noisy yet ultimately nuanced guitar rock on Saturday night at the Uptown Theater.

Lots of feedback-happy guitar bands out there like to raise a din, but no other does it with as much impressive forethought and musicianship as this nearly thirty-year-old outfit currently on tour in support of its new album,

    Smartman: They’re still outstanding at what they do and they know it. Plus nothing validates like adulation in Rock Star Land. And, let’s face it, the paycheck can’t hurt, either. All in all, not a bad way to make your nut in this world…thanks for reading.
