It’s interesting that you mention Sebastian from Italy arriving in the sixth grade, but that’s about the time Derek from Scotland moved into my neighborhood. However, since this was in St. Louis and half the kids on my block went to parochial schools which played soccer heavily from third grade on, Derek didn’t add much in the way of technical expertise or passion for the sport, but he made Ascension a right fine center midfielder.

While soccer has never been as high on my list (being a public school guy) as baseball and the other (lesser) team sports, having grown up with the sport has at least given me an appreciation of it which is understably lacking in many for whom it is a taste which must be acquired.

As for the Henry saga, all I can think is what kind of so-called journalists or — especially — yakkers are crying that they DON’T want a story? Or is all they are capable of or interested in discussing is whether Larry Jackson trashed Carl Peterson in rap recorded by cell phones? Now, That’s Entertainment! Sheesh.

Einstein said genius is the ability to distinguish the important from the unimportant. In the big scheme of things sports isn’t that important. It’s an adult playground for those who refuse to mature or perhaps a guilty pleasure for others. We’ve got bigger fish to fry.

What I find interesting about the whole Henry saga is that the message boards(KCtalk and KCforum) really wasent talking about it. When they did, many didn’t think this was a story.

It was a media story were C&C lead the charge to destry these kids.

Even Whitlock said this wasen’t much of a story.

Leon Liebl: You’ll be missed! It was a slice of home when you showed up here in KC. Good luck to our favorite sportscaster!

*Greg’s cat pissed in the house. Great another Don Fortune house soon to be for sale.
*Thanks for telling us the real story on Leon. He will be missed.
*Two sisters had facial hair LOL. I tell people all the time my mother looks just like me but her mustache is darker.
*I miss the ABA including the new ABA. Give me some B.Ball
*Soccer was the first sport I excelled at so it will always have a special place in my heart.
*If you didn’t live through the first Comets stint in KC then you have no clue as to what the potential of soccer could be.
    Uncle Dick one word-DEPENDS.
