    The only thing long and hard on BIG SEXY are his arteries and his gold chains. Props on the GGR reference. I’m going to get some leads from Mitch and Marty tomorrow.

    Greg,

    Your comment about Bob Frederick being “a forgettable part of the story” is a little harsh especially one day after his memorial service. I know what you are trying to say but I don’t think you chose your words well at a time where there are lots of people mourning over his recent passing away.

    I’d be interested in the format/rules for your year long PGA pool if you care to disclose them.

    JS,
    My words about Bob Frederick were not meant to be harsh and I apologize to those who might take them that way. Bob lived a great life for almost 70 years and I hope I am able to squeeze as much from mine. It’s my opinion that a writer be consistent with his message whether the subject is in the room, 2,000 miles away, a friend, a foe, alive or dead. I understand your argument is with my timing and while that is legit, it is also what makes it pertinent.

    Muley,
    The PGA pool I’m in works like this;

    I got to play the Black Course the week after the 2002 open. I don’t carry an “official” handicap but pretty much play scratch golf at Shoal Creek and Tiffany Greens. I shot a 128. That experience, more than anything else made me appreciate just how good the guys on the tour are. Bethpage Black gets into your head very quickly and as we all know golf is 90% mental and 10% mental.

    Jack Harry, Todd Leabo and Danny Clinkscale all with great points. No wonder 810 is No. 1 in Sports talk.

    I dated Bethpage in high school. At the time I was the one who was long and hard.

    Greg while I concur that you should remain consistent with your comments about someone be they alive or dead, I to think the shot was unnecessary. I’m also not sure if I agree with it. Two points. One nice guys don’t always finish last, note Tony Dungy. Two, I think for true historians Bob Frederick will always be remembered in relationship to Roy Williams. Many are under the impression that Bob resigning is what ultimately led to Roy leaving. They had a great relationship(or he simply let Roy had free reign) and it’s well documented he didn’t have that with his replacement. Would he have left if Bob was the AD and North Carolina came calling. We’ll never know. But I think we know it would of been more unlikely.
