Jonas, Who? Boy Band leaps on Leap’s Guitar Lamp Bandwagon

That Dan Leap plays lead guitar in the hard rocking band Pompous Jack, pilots DeLorean and Prowler sports cars, has been known to infuriate good-old-boy Merriam, Kansas politicians and manufactures Guitar Lamps is well-documented…

Kidnap victim Patty Hearst’s daughter, rocker Ted Nugent, even HGTV are among the higher profile entities that have paid homage to Leap’s lamps.

But when the biggest named stars of all came calling recently, Leap didn’t have a clue!

“The mangement for the Jonas Brothers called up a few months back and said they wanted a Guitar Lamp for their new TV series that they just started to film,” Leap says. “So they ordered a black Fender Stratocaster floor lamp.”

Speaking of floored, despite the act’s multi-platinum tween/ teen fame, Leap was not.

“At first I didn’t know who they were,” he says. “I was like, ‘Who are they?’ Then other friends clued me in.”

Not that Leap was totally out of it…

“I didn’t really know who they were, but my ears perked up when I heard ‘TV show,'” Leap says.

I should be out doing yard work… nice plug for the guitar lamp business… but it seems suspiciously like fiction in return for the plug. I just can’t imagine a guy making guitar accessories knows so little about the music business… But whatever, your article gave me five more minutes not having to work in the humidity. thanks.
