Michael Roof aka Chicken: RIP

This just in from Stanford & Sons at the Legends main man Craig Glazer…

I have some really horrible, terrible news,” Glazer says. “Michael Roof, Chicken, hung himself the night before last. His wife found him. I mean, you know Chicken; he was loveably high strung. He was more of a candidate for a car wreck or accidental death.”

After coming to terms with a party out of bounds lifestyle, Roof abandoned standup a couple years back.

“He just ran out of money and was trying to be a regular person,” Glazer says. “Then he was trying to get back into comedy – he was here in April. And you know, he just seemed really confused. He didn’t want to do the crazy Micahel Roof on stage stuff, like have sex on a chair to the William Tell Overture. That would bring the house down but he said he didn’t want to be a physical type comic anymore. I just don’t think he could find his inner voice.”

Roof also appeared in the movies Black Hawk Down, Dukes of Hazzard and xXx.

    Stanfords will soon announce a special program at the theatre for Michael, the funds will go to his wife and three children, he was a great talent and did alot in a short time….many people here knew him and liked Chicken alot..he is especially missed by his best friend and co star of their tv show Hype, by Kansas Citian Steve Kramer….listen to 98.9 The Rock for details of upcoming show in his honor. God Bless him….

    All I can say is, man that sucks. Chicken always made me grin at the very least, usually more. Last couple times on the Rock he was up and down, sad that he ended up at this decision.

    I think Craig should return to hustling and crime to see if he can make a major score to support his family for life. It’s amazing how creative people have issues that will often lead to suicide or attempts at such. Look at the Wilson kid.

    is in a better place he was so talented and always wanted to make people laugh and be happy but inside he was miserable,please seek help be-cause there is help.i love you and miss you always.mama
