Didn’t want to listen to KK’s segment on cooking rabbit – what makes you think I would want to read about it?

Being a sports fan in Kansas City is like being a hooker in Salt Lake City, you’re not going to get a lot of love. Speaking of that Trey Hillman was caught looking for a win on Craig’s List. Things are so bad that Queen Elizabeth has asked the British Press to start calling her family The Monarchy and not “The Royals”. According to Amnesty International women in Iran get beat less frequently than the Royals do. Prostitutes in New York have two special offers this summer, the A-Rod and The Royals. You get screwed which ever package you choose, The Royals package just costs a lot less.
The only way a Royals player is getting to second base these days is if he’s fondling his gals breasts. The Royals have figured out a way to improve the food quality at The K; City Union Mission is going to start sending out their leftovers. A gay bar in San Francisco called Roy n’ Al’s has just changed its’ name to Al and Roy’s. They say it’s not whether you win or lose but how you play the game. Maybe someone can tell Trey Hillman how to PLAY THE GAME. Word is the new hockey team in Independence is going to be called the Meth’s and the arena will be called the Crystal Palace. The first fan promotion is going to be TEETH NIGHT. The second is going to be for young girls..it’s a Big Boned Barbie give away and it comes with a Sonic Drive In.

810 sounds like listening to a constant commercial with 2 or 3 minutes of sportstalk thrown in per hour. Kietzman’s show is particularly bad, I recently tuned in and the first 10 minutes of the show was a commercial for something, I don’t remember what. I now listen to 610 for all but the 8-9 AM hour so I don’t have to listen to boring old Roger best friend of Carl Twibell.

    Greg,

Let me preface this by saying I grew up hating your Huskers. However, I think they are the favorite to win the north this year. KU seems to be getting way too much run for how it finished last season; a win over a mediocre Missouri team and a bowl win over a terrible Minnesota team. With their schedule,I wouldn’t be all that surprised if they don’t even make a bowl game next season. As for K-State, Phil Steele must have a lot of lingering respect for Bill Snyder. But who knows what the old man has up his sleeve? I heard he’s working constantly. Even been told he asked the team trainer to rig up a treadmill so he could eat lunch while using it.

I could see KU blowing the north this year, but there’s no way they finish below KSU. Greg, KU fans know who Phil Steele is. We follow football recruiting, we go to bowl games, we fill the stadium, we even go to the spring game. It’s still a baskeball school, but don’t for a second think KU football is Nebraska basketball.

    Arte,
Reesing gives KU a huge advantage in the North. If he stays healthy (and that is a HUGE if) I think they beat NU and MU, their biggest challenges for the North title.

We moved to KC in 1988 and I became a closet K-State fan as I watched Bill Snyder’s Miracle in Manhattan. I will never forget that crazy last-minute win in Cincinnati in a night game. I was running around the house listening to Mitch H. like I was a purple person. I respect everything about Coach Bill but I think he is done. He was done the first time and bringing him back doesn’t change that. KSU is close to becoming Iowa State South.

    Johnny U,
I beg to differ. I think KU football is very similar to NU basketball where their fans are concerned. Let me preface this with the fact that KU football has been far more successful than NU hoops. But both have a solid following of passionate fans who rarely get too excited about their off-season team’s failures. Sure, KU is now selling a lot of football tickets but how many of those are being bought by Williams Fund honchos who want to improve their seats inside AFH? Lots.

    Greg,

I think I heard caller Jeff on the postgame tonight spouting the same things.I think someone is off his medicine again. Even the hosts were skewering Trey Hillman after today’s game which is unusual on the station that carries them. Trey Hillman has no idea what he is doing out there. I think Trey Hillman needs a one way ticket back to Japan where his managing might make sense.
