Two of my favorite Jayhawks–Rex Walters and Jerrod Haase.

The rest of the team besides Collins and Aldrich to me looked scared to take a shot because they were more afraid to be the goat than the hero.

JS, you couldn’t have picked 2 bigger opposites between Mr. Clutch, 2-time all Big 8 and Mr. False Hustle, shooting us out of Elite 8 Syracuse and Sweet 16 Arizona losses. There’s a reason Haase hightailed it to Chapel Hill and hasn’t shown up in Lawrence in years.

It’s Nick Collison from the post-Manning era for me. Even with the missed free throws in the ’03 final.

Vitale’s ignorance of Aldrich’s skills is just an example of the power of the 4 letter Godzilla known as ESPN. The deification of this man and the creation of “great” players from northeastern region colleges (see Hasheem Thebeet) exemplifies it’s disreguard for fans outside of the eastern time zone. Time for the “Worldwide Leader In Sports” to remember it’s roots and provide highlights of all games in equal proportion (5 minutes for Yanks/Red Sox, 1 minute for Royals at the end of Sportscenter) and reduce the Farve/TO/Cowboys/etc. specialized coverage ad nauseum.

Not gonna happen, but thanks for lettin’ me rant.
